Update: really horrible treatment . The older woman that works there doesn’t understand English and when she had this girl come over who looks like she might be the manager of the place I showed her my mobile order she Intentionally gave me an attitude when I was really respectful and patient just waiting to get a hold of someone . And apparently they didn’t start on my order at all and for her to be petty and take literally 20 people before even handing the food+ drinks it was just honestly extremely ignorant and bias. I know I don’t speak Spanish but I was very respectful and patient. I ordered mobile order waited an hour before I came for my “asap” order and I had to wait 1 hour at the place or in the place both the times I went after my recent review. It’s crazy because I beefed up this place to so many people and recommended it as well! It’s ridiculous cause I spend around $60 when I go buying 5 drinks at a time and a bag of food! It’s extremely ridiculous. I also never complain at all that my takeout orders are wrong cause I’m trying to support the place so it’s even more outrageous that I get treated like that —————————————- Ordered at 12 pm on a Saturday and although the place was very busy I was still able to get my food and juice within 10 minutes which isn't bad. I ordered mango juice with water which was very, very fresh it left me craving it for hours after. Chicharron platter (had plantano, chicharron, rice and beans and fried egg(yolk not cooked). I found that the chicharron was very heavy, and could be better if the fat was rendered more and if it was consistently crispy for each piece Chicken empanadas (I love the casing they used and the filling was great, the aji verde is very liquidy which helped get to the bottom of the empanadas. Arepas (really fresh) very well rounded. Total was about $40. Will be coming back for more for sure.

Found Cafe Tinto at the Christmas Village in Love Park this weekend. I was excited to try a local Colombian spot, which I miss so much from back in my hometown of Queens, NY. Ordered the $7 chicharron and $6 2 empanada combo. One beef and one cheese. The chicharron was very underwhelming. It was so burnt that the sauce, lemon, and hot sauce couldn't take the burnt taste away. It was very disappointing, and a small portion. The cheese empanada was ok at best, but the beef empanada was very good. The hot sauce was the star of the show, hands down. I understand that the location and setting play a factor in this, but after standing in a short line for 30 mins to get burnt chicharron was not what I expected. A pic for reference, not great quality, as it was taken from a video I recorded.

Went there by curiosity, I tried pan de bono it was pretty good, didn't know or maybe I didn't remember that is like a cheese bread. Also a hot chocolate, which was ok, maybe I was waiting for something more, like spices or dominant dark chocolate flavor. Not sure what I was expecting 🤣. The lady at register very polite, she greeted me nicely and offered me many other things. Parking is difficult there, I stopped that day because I found a parking. About prices, I think they are fair, taking in consideration the times that we are living. I liked the security measures taken for the employees with those safety glass.

My family and I have been going to this restaurant for many years now. The food is amazing. But it's extremely upsetting how staff members treat their customers. They pick and choose what days they are not in the mood to deal with people, when their literal job is to provide service. I have personally supported this business for years, until now. My mother came into this spot to buy food (near closing hours, not busy at all) and asked if they could please allow my 6 year old autistic brother to use the bathroom because it was an emergency. He was on the verge of peeing on himself and they disrespectfully turned her down. I understand the concept of not having public bathrooms but to turn down a literal child who is on the verge of peeing on himself is extremely inhumane. They would have much rather allow a 6 year old child to pee on himself and watch my mother go through the embarrassment of cleaning it, because she was obviously not going to leave urine on the floor. My mother is not the type of person to ask for favors or bother people in the customer service field. The owner did not apologize and instead insisted that it was not their problem. The lack of empathy toward a customer who has supported your business for more than a decade is out of this mind. I bet that if it was a friend, or a friend of a friend, it would have been a different outcome. There...

Im new in the area , just moved from Chicago, i was very hopeless and sad since for the past month I did not have luck with the Colombian cafes in the city , until today that i received the best treat ever!!!

I order all the goodies and bake goods from this place!!! and they were delicious, I had a calentado, with chorizo and eggs, my husband and i felt back in Colombia!! the chocolate just smelled and taste like my grandamom one!!

also they have the option to get frozen food , I can't wait for the weekend to baked my own arepa de chocolo, arepa con queso and last but not least a piece of the Colombian cheese that they also sell by pound.

And the most important thing the costumer service!! they were so nice! all my food was very well packed, she came with her mask on all the time, and explained where and how i had to cook all my food!!

thanks so much!! i can't wait to order...
