The worst thing about Casablanca is that we can’t come here every day 🥲

We’ve spent birthdays (see photo), post-half-marathon survival celebrations, random Wednesdays, and everything in between at Casablanca, and we always leave full, happy, and wondering if it’s socially acceptable to come back the next night.

Walid and Maryann manage to make every table feel like the best one in the place, and that same care shows up in the food, which is always INCREDIBLE. The kind of meal that keeps you eating even after you’re full, because it’s that good.

There’s always a little too much food (perfect for leftovers if you have self-control… can’t relate), just enough wine, and somehow never enough room for dessert… but we manage 😏. Grateful every time. ❤️

Now for the helpful part: We’re vegan and vegetarian and always enjoy getting the prix fixe menu. Even the dessert (baklava!) is vegan!! None of that sad “watch everyone else eat dessert” situation you’re all too familiar with. IYKYK. The appetizer, vegetarian platter, and mujadara lentils are unbelievably flavorful, and let me just say…they are not stingy with the portions or the pita. We also love stocking up on tahini, halva, and good beverages from their grocery area on our way out!...

I don’t understand the five star rating. Just look at user-submitted pictures of the food, it is mediocre at best. On top of that, they don’t sell their cheaper menu items even for take out if you walk in and order. You have to call ahead or order it online in advance. The menu images posted here don’t reflect that.

I miss Bitar’s, this place ain’t it.

Edit: Wow, what a response. I ate here another time prior to this review, I have actually tried the food. I made this review after coming back to give them a second chance despite a mediocre experience the first time around. I happily offered to take the food to go and was told I had to order online for shawarma wrap takeout because “it’s complicated.” So I left without ordering anything, I didn't want to spend $16.99 (nearly double the price) for the plated version.

Class act offering to post photos/video of me for having an opinion though. I’m sorry that you now have a 4.9 star rating. That’s still better than any other restaurant in the area, please calm down. To be fair, I will bump the food rating to 3 stars and the service down to 1,...

What an incredible experience! This Mediterranean restaurant exceeded all expectations. The Chicken Shawarma over rice, generously drizzled with garlic sauce, was a masterpiece of tender, flavorful perfection. The Lamb and Kefta were equally exceptional, cooked to tender perfection and accompanied by delicious hummus that complemented every bite. The Roasted Eggplant and Spanakopita were both savory and huge standouts. For dessert, the delicious fresh baklava boasts layers of flaky pastry, honey, and nuts, creating a delightful treat that satisfies with every bite.

Walid and his wife treated us like family, offering recommendations and ensuring every detail of our dining experience was flawless. Their hospitality truly added to the warmth of the atmosphere, which was cozy yet vibrant – the perfect backdrop for a memorable meal.

This Mediterranean restaurant is a hidden gem that deserves to be celebrated. 10/10 – they've truly elevated dining to a new level...

This place had been on my list for a while and it really did not disappoint. The front part of the restaurant is like a store and the side feels like you were transported to a different continent. The ambiance was beautiful inside with the colorful tapestry and the low seating. We came in at 8pm on a Monday evening and we were seated immediately. We brought our own wine, and we ordered the spanakopita, chicken shawarma over salad and the kefta platter. The entree portions were huge and my friend and I could have easily shared a platter and been full. The food was so flavorful and delicious, the platters came with very tasty hummus and fresh tabbouleh. I will surely be coming back here again and bring more of my friends. I feel like I stumbled upon a hidden gem. This is probably one of my favorite Mediterranean spots in philly for sure. I would HIGHLY recommend this place.
