China Wok — Restaurant in Philadelphia

The woman taking the order over the phone was not very friendly, as if she were "rolling her eyes" at me on the other end of the line. She did however get my order correct, but only gave a total cost for my order upon request. Delivery was fast, just 20 minutes or so. The man delivering my order smiled and was very nice. He handed me a free 2 liter of coke, as I can only assume for orders over $30, which was a nice surprise. I ordered a few different things. I have never left a bad review of food before, so it is unfortunate that I must do so now. The tofu dinner I ordered was awful. It tasted like a dry rubber sponge soaked in terrible tasting sauce. I had to throw it out. My boyfriend had General Tso chicken. I tried it myself only to find it to be slightly less than awful. Again, the sauce was not good. The steamed dumplings were okay. The wonton soup was good. Egg rolls were dry and greasy. And the complimentary crunchy "noodles" they gave us were stale. It is a shame, as ever since Kings Palace closed I have yet to find anything that compares in the area. Unfortunately I will not be ordering...

WOW! Thats really all I need to say but I will say more anyway. I have not ordered from here since I was in high school & I don't know why. This is without a doubt the best Chinese takeout in the neighborhood. When my family orders Chinese we order quite a lot of food so that we have a decent variety. We each choose something we like or that we want to try & everyone shares so we each get a bit of everything & it usually ends up being close to $100. The food was not only VERY tasty & full of flavor but it was about $30 cheaper & delivered fast & still warm. Thats not all, they got the whole entire order correct, nothing was wrong & nothing was missing from my order! I don't know why I haven't ordered from here for so long but I do know that I will not order from another Chinese place in this neighborhood again! They discriminate consistently when you’re only trying to wash or buy food. I only come to support your business and you give me a hard time a lot because I’m trying wash clothes. Common sense would tell you to put some type of sign up saying permanently closed and we won’t have no issues. That lady is all over the place she very polite to whites but acts like she takes her good old time to blacks like she’s tired of you coming to wash or buy food. Easy way to handle it but they lie and tell you only one dryer works when other dryers do work and they wash there own clothes in the other dryers they lie b.s then speak in their language so you don’t know what their saying. I’ll never buy food again!...
