Haggerty Deli — Restaurant in Philadelphia

Our new favorite sub/hoagie shop in Philly! We are originally from New Jersey and we’re kind of snobby about our Italian-style subs. We’ve tried other sub places around here and they’re either sub par or overpriced and over-branded. Haggerty’s is awesome! It’s a small, family-run place and it’s clear that they put care and special attention to each and every order. They even called me about my online order to let me know that they were running to get more bread and asked me if I’d rather cancel or wait. They sliced the pickles fresh from a barrel! They didn’t charge extra for a side of pickles with a sub. Best part - THE FOOD IS AFFORDABLE. It’s a simple, no-nonsense menu, and their up-charges make sense (i.e., they charge extra dor stuff like meats and cheeses and not for tiny things like sauce or veg). I had my first Haggerty's sub after living in the area for 5 years and being referred to this place numerous times. I must say, the deli meat is top notch. I got a large italian and would likely order the same sandwich every time. This place is certainly a neighborhood spot in Manayunk, but it is worth straying from Ridge Ave and Main St. I would suggest calling and picking up if you are driving, there is no way you will find a parking spot! I used to live on the same block as Haggerty Deli and they were truly a life saver for me, especially during the pandemic.
