Great food and customer service. I enjoy eating here, even more after today's visit. While sitting at the counter conducting my personal business an older African-American woman entered the restaurant seeming a bit destitute (in today's America who doesn't look or feel this way when it costs almost $15.00+ to buy a loaf of bread, a dozen of eggs and a gallon of milk) asking the employees if they served any type of breakfast specials to go. She goes on to explain to the waitress and manager that she only has five dollars to spend and hopefully it is enough for a sandwich. I was going to insert myself into their conversation and offer to buy her a meal but to my surprise the manager's reply was "what kinda sandwich would you like?" He goes on to ask her what would she like on it and what would she like with it, and asks if she'd like a beverage too which she replied, "thank you, yes". The waitress kindly served Pepsi to her. When her order was completed, which looked much larger than just a sandwich she attempted to pay but the manager says to the woman "that's ok, don't worry about it and enjoy the rest of your day". I said to the manager it was very nice of him to do that for her and that I would pay for her meal. He replied to Me, "thanks but it's ok. It is the least I could do and chuckles "it won't break us".
Showing such compassion for another is what's lacking in today's America. I applaud this manager and this waitress for what they did today. I will add Daiva's Grille to my go...
Read moreStopped by Daiva’s Grille for lunch today, and let me just say—this place knows how to do a burger right. We ordered the Ben Franklin Burger with fries (that we ended up splitting) and the House Burger, plus an appetizer of onion rings because, well, why not?
First off, be warned: the Ben Franklin Burger isn’t messing around. Two hefty beef patties stacked up, cooked exactly as ordered, and packed with flavor. If you’ve got an appetite, this is your move. The House Burger was just as solid—juicy, well-seasoned, and honestly, better than some of those burger joints that charge double the price for a similar meal. And those onion rings? Crispy, golden, and exactly what you want in a side. Be warned, they come hot, so don't let greed get the best of you like it did me.
Beyond the food, the vibe here is just easygoing and welcoming. The waitresses were awesome—friendly and had a great sense of humor that made the meal even better. You don’t always get service like that, so it stood out.
They do have a small parking lot, but if that’s full, there’s plenty of on-street parking nearby, so no stress. For the portions and quality, the value here is top-notch. Definitely one of those spots we’ll hit again next time we’re in the area.
If you’re in Roxborough and craving a legit burger, Daiva’s Grille is worth the stop. Just come hungry—especially if you’re tackling the...
Read moreUsed to love this place for a Sunday morning " nobody feels like cooking " breakfast . This morning was a first time in a long time, and will be the last time for a very long time. For a Sunday morning around 10am , it wasn't crowded at all. Lady took us 3 right to a booth , and that's where it started heading south . Had to wait to wipe the syrup and trash off the seats , then right into the waitress with an attitude. Got asked 3 times if we're ready to order while we are still taking jackets off and opening menus . Get through that in one piece , all the while looking forward to our breakfast platters . Disappointment comes with the delivery of three plates of overcooked sausage, bacon, and potatoes. Honestly preferable to the vastly undercooked eggs though. Now the French toast??? Perfection ... go figure. The final straw is the bill . I've never seen this but there's 2 totals ...one for cash , one for cards ... like I'm getting gas or something smdh ! I usually tip in cash , pay with card but not here . It's actually cheaper overall to pay the 2.50 fee to use their ATM to grab cash and do everything cash . Next week we're heading down further and going to Andy's. Got more than a few good memories here but its not that...
