Dattilo's Delicatessen — Restaurant in Philadelphia

Can I just say I can't believe I grew up in this neighborhood and I never came here until now! This quaint little deli makes one of the best cheese steaks I have ever had. They also have a ton of fresh deli items and fresh meats. I saw them on a competition for the best steaks and couldn't believe they were blocks from my house. Anyone that has read my reviews knows I'm also a big breakfast guy and they do that great and ALL DAY! Let me start with the steak. The roll is seeded and so fresh, solid foundation. The meet was moist and tender plus super stuffed. This is my new go to for steaks. My wife had an Italian hoagie and loved it, said it was perfect! Now to the breakfast, the sausage egg and cheese on a Kiser roll was delicious. The eggs were fresh tasting and the overall sandwich was great. My only minor ask is that they add a hashbrown as an option. They have no breakfast sides, no home fries and no hashbrowns. I feel that is kind of a big miss but not worth a loss of a star. I have to be honest so…I’ve driven past this establishment for years and finally decided to try it. I was hesitant because I wasn’t sure how I would have been treated (being a woman of color) but the staff there are sooo friendly and welcoming like we’ve known each other forever. Service was fast and the sandwich was absolutely delicious. It taste like what you’d expect a good quality hoagie to taste like. I was mad my daughter ate half!! Meat portions were perfect and the roll taste freshly baked. I wanted to go back the next day for another one lol but I didn’t. Good food but your place has issues with customer service. 10/26/19 you guys have to stop talking and pay attention. I was waiting 15 minutes to put my order at front counter. Young kid comes up who wears eye glasses and rings out a customer tells me one minute and pick up the phone takes order and walks away? Still waiting another customer comes in and he waiting. Tall bald headed guy comes around see us but is talking to another customer none stop? 15 minute later another guy comes up takes my order. The customer behind me asked I am here for pick up? Tells another guy behind counter. Anyway talking talking?? Guess what? You guys going end up closing due to your mouths. When customers dont show up then you will get the picture.
