I haven't been in the downtown Dunkin Donuts since last year, I think. Before it got shortened to Dunkin'. It was about fifteen minutes before closing. Sunday, I think. The staff were cleaning up, but the high top counter by the front door still had crumbs and such from people who had been there earlier. Someone was sweeping the floor by the tables and chairs, and the tables and chairs were stacked to the side to clear the space.
I ordered a medium coffee (with cream, sugar on the side), Boston cream doughnut and apple crumb doughnut. Everything was served up fast.
The coffee was the usual Dunkin Donuts coffee: plenty hot, and with the kind of fruity flavor that reminds you that coffee is from a bean.
The Boston cream doughnut was more fresh than I expected for the end of the day. The chocolate frosting was still consistent and intact, the dough shell was still springy and the custard/cream was moist and consistent.
The apple crumb doughnut was also more fresh than I expected.
One odd thing is that both doughnut shells were from out of a mold or cutter that makes Christmas Santa Claus doughnuts. The shape is pretty distinctive. I could see how the doughnut baker/bakery could spin it around and lay down colored frosting to make it display some sort of Jack-o'-lantern or Thanksgiving turkey or cornucopia, but it is pretty clearly meant to be a Santa Claus head shape. I don't mind the shape, but the shell looked and felt noticably smaller than the standard doughnuts.
Anyway, the doughnuts, coffee and staff were great....
Read moreZero stars!!! Terrible! No customer service what so ever! They even hung up on me because they just couldn’t accept that they did something wrong. I’m disabled, so I rely on delivery services. I placed an order for 2 boxes of donuts choosing specific flavors. Instead I was sent two boxes of random stale donuts. They claim they ran out of the flavors of donuts I ordered. Mind you I placed my order around 4pm and they close at midnight… They could have waited until a new batch of donuts came out or they could have cancelled/ not accepted my order but instead they just go for sending stale leftover donuts of random flavors. She “apologized” for the stale donuts and gave me the option to come pick up the correct flavors in person which is frustrating because if that’s the case this proves they had the flavors I wanted all along. Why send me the wrong flavors and what’s worst stale donuts!!! I told them that I’m disabled so I can’t go in person and that they could have just canceled the order but all I got was silence. From there the conversation just went around in circles and when I repeated why not just canceled the order, why would you accept the order she said they don’t have the option to cancel and in the end just hung up on me. I just wanted to file a complaint because this was just unacceptable! I paid for delivery service plus tip and all they can say is “oh sorry you can just come by and pick up the right order”. Unbelievable!!! So little regard for people and no...
Read moreI recently stopped by this Dunkin’ doughnuts with high hopes for a cup of hot tea and banana bread, but I left feeling utterly disappointed and ignored. The experience was nothing short of frustrating.
Upon entering, I was the only customer in the store, which should have made for a pleasant and efficient experience. Instead, what I encountered was a group of unprofessional staff members who appeared more interested in chatting among themselves than attending to the one customer they had—me.
After placing my order using the self-service terminal, I waited patiently by the counter. I assumed someone would collect the order or at least acknowledge my presence. However, the employees casually dismissed my attempts to get their attention, rolling their eyes and muttering that it "wasn't part of their jobs" to check on orders. Are we seriously in a coffee shop?
I understand that every workplace can have off days, but this level of neglect and disdain towards a paying customer is unacceptable. Dunkin’ should take a long, hard look at how they train their employees because right now, this location is sorely lacking in basic customer service skills.
If you value being treated like a human being, steer clear of...
