We visited Ekta for the first time tonight and really enjoyed everything. We ordered a bit too much food, but I wanted to try a lot of different things and honestly, everything was really good.
We did opt to dine in, which was awesome because everything was so hot when it arrived.
We got some Aaloo Aur Papri Chat to share with the table and everyone loved this - if you're not familiar with this, order it. It's so good. My wife also got the Rasila Kabob and I tried some of that, that was really good too.
Tandoori chicken was awesome!! Great flavor. The Mirch Tikka was very spicy, but I'm all about that. The spicier, the better. Both came on a bed of lettuce and fresh onions with lemon.
Paneer Tikka Masala is unreal. Will definitely be getting this again. I also really liked the Saag Aur Paneer.
Last but not least, the staff at Ekta was awesome. As first timers, they helped me choose a few dishes they recommended which I really appreciated. They really took care of us and made it an awesome experience.
Can't say enough about our dinner, I'm really happy to know we have this right down the street from our house. We'll be back...
Read moreI've been to the fishtown location of Ekta a while ago and was surprised to hear they had opened a location in Manayunk. The Manayunk location used to be another Indian restaurant. We decided to eat in and ordered a pair of entrees and a naan. They do not have waiter service and offer paper plates for dine in. We were given a huge amount of rice for our two entrees - more than enough. The mango lamb had a decent helping of lamb and mango. The butter chicken was amazing and, like the mango lamb, had plenty of protein. The peshwari nana was on point.
I'd recommend EKta, although it is probably best to just...
Read moreWe regularly order take-out from here which seems to be the popular choice even though they do have a fair amount of dine-in seating. There are many naan selections and we especially like the paneer naan and garlic naan. Favorite main dishes include salmon tikka masala, chicken tikka masala, paneer tikka masala, butter chicken, and the chicken jalfrezi. If you have a low spice tolerance be sure to request “mild” spice level on any dish.
Parking is a little tricky since there’s only street parking but there are usually spots available somewhere nearby. Some patrons often just slide in on the corner or double park on Lyceum with their hazard lights flashing for a quick run in. In any case the food has always been ready when we’ve arrived...
