Ellie & Bird Coffee Bar, a cute little cozy coffee corner in the Port Richmond neighborhood of Philadelphia.
I've been looking forward to trying this place since it always looked cute on the outside, but wasn't ready or open yet. Finally, it was, the other day, when I was in the area.
PARKING Parking is street parking only and it can be hard to find a parking spot around here!
MENU They have a lot of cool things on the menu that I'd love to try out over time. Like horchata with an option to add an espresso shot. Or the PB&B.
Ultimately, I'm a sucker for lavender lattes so I decided to opt for that instead!
I had their Honey Lavender Latte, a seasonal drink, but I got it iced. My sister got a regular cold brew. The sweeteners are off to the side.
I won't lie I was nervous about honey in my lavender latte. I had it once before somewhere else and it was awful, but I didn't have that same experience here!! The latte was delicious!
Also to note, it's quite affordable! I paid for my coffee & my sister's. I signed up for rewards because I plan on coming back, and the machine offered me a 15% off coupon for my first time there so I paid $9.34. Without 15% off it would've been $10.70 for two orders. $5.35 for one 16oz drink. That's a steal. Whenever I order from Starbucks or Wawa I pay more than that for a 16 oz! My order and my boyfriend's order often comes out to $15ish at Starbucks.
Shop local when you can! Support your local small businesses.
ATMOSPHERE I definitely can see myself coming back to have a drawing session. I love finding cafes I can draw in.
For some reason, I get more done that way. This place is super cozy though! My eyes gravitated to all the decor. I just loved it. And WC (wash closet aka bathroom), I don't see that often anymore so color me impressed!
OVERALL They're only open from 7:30 to 3pm Monday through Friday and 8am to 2pm on the weekends. Which is kind of a bummer because sometimes I don't roll out of my bed till late or am running errands for too long to feel like the trip is worth it. But I completely understand.
The only other thing I am iffy about is parking.
P.S. The cute cup sleeve in my photo is from RosyRyleighShop on Etsy!
I definitely will try to...
Read moreEllie & Bird is absolutely stunning — one of those places where you walk in and instantly feel the beauty in every detail. The space itself is gorgeous, bright, and inviting, and the kind of atmosphere you can’t help but want to spend hours in.
The service is just as wonderful — warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. Every visit feels personal, like you’re being taken care of by friends who truly want you to enjoy your time there. And the cherry on top? They proudly serve Bean2Bean coffee (aka the best coffee in Philly — I’m obsessed), which makes every cup taste that much better.
Heather, the owner, is the best of the best. Her vision, energy, and heart shine through in everything Ellie & Bird has to offer. As a small business owner myself, I admire the way she’s built such a beautiful, intentional space that feels both elevated and welcoming.
Ellie & Bird isn’t just a café — it’s an experience. A must-visit gem that makes Philly feel even more...
Read moreI went to a private event at Ellie and Bird in the evening hours a few days ago. The space is curated to perfection… you can tell there is so much love and thought behind the decor and style selections. I didn’t have anything to drink bc it was late… I’ll return to try the coffee after their grand opening.
Growing up I never went to the Port Richmond neighborhood, but this coffee bar will get me back out there. I love the aesthetic-the exposed brick, the windows that open to the neighborhood (can’t wait for consistent spring/summer weather)
Co-founder Heather is a gem and I met her business partner Gavin- he great, too! It’s definitely feels like a local hangout and I’ll be back to camp out and do...
