My girlfriend and I recently bought a vegan pizza from this place and wanted to relay the terrible experience we had with them.
First, we decided to get the pizza delivered, which turned out to be a horrible decision on our part. This establishment is just over a mile away from our apartment complex and it took around 2 hours to arrive. When it did, the pizza was cold and we had to put it the oven at home to re-cook it. They also never apologised for it taking so long and didn't offer anything to make up for it. I
Next, they also messed up our order. I had ordered a medium pizza and they gave me a large, which I was also charged for. I even tried to clarify over the phone and match the prices with the size of the pizza, but was told that the medium costed the price of the large. We also ordered multigrain crust, which was also neglected along with everything else. The only thing they got right was the type of pizza we wanted.
Lastly, the quality of the the pizza was low quality at best. The crust was pretty good (although wrong), but the toppings were subpar.
Overall, we will never be order from this place again, which is unfortunate because it's really hard to find a good selection of...
Read moreEdit - we’ve since ordered for delivery, and I can only really recommend the GF if you’re eating in store. They were still incredibly careful about cross contamination, but the crust (which was room temp by the time it was delivered) was dry and essentially crumbled away when I bit into it. It was like eating a matza pizza. I’d still go here for takeout or eat in, but beware that the GF crust is only good right after it comes out of the oven.
I have a severe wheat allergy, and am always nervous to eat out at pizza restaurants because of the risk of cross contamination. I ordered the gluten free pizza and before I could even say anything else, the owner assured me that they are very careful, and that they will give me my own separate, disposable cutter so that there’s no risk of cross contamination. He was so kind and helpful, and I appreciated that he didn’t make me feel like a nuisance for requesting allergy modifications.
The pizza also happened to be pretty good! The gluten free crust is thin, but not crispy. It has a decent amount of flexibility, and the pizza isn’t tiny. The sauce was amazing, definitely homemade....
Read moreWe ordered the Rainbow Vegan Pizza with red sauce(normally comes with white) for the first time and it was amazing. Normally I go with the Vegan Pure Essential which is filled with veggies and taste delicious. But this time I had a taste for vegan sausage pizza. I wish I could give Fino's more than 5 stars simply for the service and quality ingredients. I've been eating here for 5-6 years and each experience is great. Rob(the owner, who I always call Fino lol) and his brother Marco are so welcoming, friendly and helpful. We moved further away from the shop but any chance we get, we travel 30+ minutes to support this business and eat some GOOD food. If you're ever in Philadelphia in the Germantown area I highly recommend you stop by Fino's and try it for yourself! They are able to accommodate different dietary needs (vegetarian, vegan, gluten free) but you don't have to have any to enjoy this delicious chef's magic. For us, we love...
