Four Worlds Bakery is a *FANTASTIC* bakery with some of the best pastries and breads in the city. Go there and try everything, they need and deserve our support! LONG STORY: I have been going to Four Worlds Bakery for years and have always been amazed at the incredible variety and magical deliciousness of their croissants and pastries in particular. In this picture alone you have the following croissants: chocolate almond (one of the best things I've ever eaten), raisin, apricot brie, lemon curd, spinach ricotta, and goat cheese, and I barely scratched the surface of what they offer. Also pictured are a whole wheat sourdough bread and a Carrot Cake Man carrot cake. Consider this your reminder to go there, and for the many people new to the neighborhood who haven't yet tried it. It's honestly one of the best bakeries in the city; on the quality alone it deserves our patronage and support. But beyond that, the owner is such a kind, generous, wonderful contributor to good in our community. Just a few highlights: - FWB donates tons to organizations that do great work like Food Not Bombs - During the pandemic FWB began offering other bakeries' items for sale, to support their survival during the hardest times for everyone - FWB donated part of its profits to support Lee's Deli's recovery - offered a place for Carrot Cake Man to sell his best-in-the-MF-world carrot cakes (!) when Lee's closed - donated big boxes of baked goods to hospital staff working the front lines during the pandemic Please, please flood them with business! Get your job to order a big box of happiness for staff! You won't be disappointed, I promise.

Love this place and this morning my partner surprised me with my favorites so I thought I’d share the joy: plain bagel— I usually go for a flavor but here the original plain is the best in my opinion, always fresh and a good chew to it, good crisp bake on outside, good with cream cheese, better with butter! And my fav of all time: the vanilla cream beignet, the pastry cream inside is sooo good, real vanilla bean flecks, crispy fry outside fluffy dough, so good!!

Amazing GEM in West Philly that can easily be overlooked! But step inside this community bakery for the finest top notch pastries (pure decadence) and all baked goods are sourdough swoon worthy. Catch end of day happy hour where pastries and bagels are BOGO and loaves are $1 off! You will be delighted with what this little bakery has to offer your senses!

I am so shocked at the experience I just had when I walked into the bakery. I went to support the carrot cake man and buy a bunch of carrot cakes.

When I walked in I was on the phone. I didn’t pay attention to the signs outside. I was instructed to put on a mask which I did without hesitation and with apologies. The woman that was work was extremely rude to me. She was very nasty as she indicated that there were obvious signs stating that masks should be worn. I responded again by saying what is the point of that I have no problem putting on the mask. When I went to order she started talking to someone that just walked into the store ignoring me.

This was the worse experience I have had at any store since moving into the neighborhood. I am so very disappointed at the manner in which I was treated. So much so that I am writing...

First and foremost their bagels are amazing, but sometimes service can hold a place back. My experience has been a mix bag. Depending on who is in there they won't cut your bagel, which is surprising for a bakery that sells bagels. Also the worker told me only one person inside at a time. However when a white customer came in they did not say anything. I don’t want to jump to conclusions, but I will say have a standardized policy and treat everyone the same. If its only one person in at a time, only have one person in at a time, if bagels can somehow be cut, all employees should cut your bagels. For those reasons I will not be going back despite how good the bagels are.

I wouldn’t call it racial disparity but someone definitely could take that type of behavior out of context, like I said I’m not jumping to...
