Kingsessing Ice Cream Shop - The overpowering, sickly smell of high fructose syrup & sugar attacks your nostrils as you open the door to find they're peddling the mediocre Bassett's Ice Cream!!! What a colossal disappointment here in the land of the healthy-wealthy who typically only patronize businesses that pledge to use organic, locally sourced, fresh ingredients. Instead, Bassett's ice cream (made w/out real egg yolks) uses unhealthy ingredients like non-fat milk, corn syrup, guar gum, stabilitizers, soy lecithin and imitation vanilla in its recipes. Even Breyer's All Natural or Turkey Hill Simply Natural tastes better than Bassett's. I'll admit, my ice cream palate has been spoiled by the legendary Bent Spoon and Halo Pub in Princeton, NJ and the Penn State Creamery in State College, PA but this is such a disappointment. Skip this shop and save your money. Buy some Turkey Hill at the supermarket and let the kids have fun making their own waffle cones, until a better choice in West Philly...

They had a good selection of ice cream, along with a small handful of specialty flavors they labeled "Craved Kreations." Waffle cones and bowls are crafter fresh in-house and are not too sweet.

The staff was very nice and offered samples of any ice cream to help customers decide the best flavor for them.

I had the standard cookies and cream in a waffle cone. The flavor was great, and I would absolutely like to stop by again to see what flavors rotate out for the craved creations...

Needed a good scoop shop in the neighborhood! Good sized portions that are fairly priced. I’ve had some flavors that are great and some just fine. However, I don’t mind paying medium price for medium-good ice cream since some places in Philly charge wayyy more. The friendly staff and convenient location seal the deal.

A bonus for me is that they sometimes have gluten free cookie ice cream. I’m not celiac but can’t have gluten and it’s rare that I get to enjoy that kind of flavor. Thank you for...
