Jerry’s Kitchen - Philadelphia Catering Company — Restaurant in Philadelphia

I contracted with Jerry's for an outdoor party at my house in June 2022. I chose Jerry's because of the great reviews online. The customer service before the event was great. I had all my questions answered and Scott was generous with his advice. We paid for a selection of 3 sandwiches for our guests (cheesesteak, roast pork and crispy chicken), plus 2 sides (coleslaw and macaroni and cheese). The truck with 2 workers were ready to serve on time. About half way through the 2-hour service time, I heard from guests that the truck had run out of coleslaw. Shortly after, I ordered a roast pork sandwich from the truck. The workers confirmed they had run out of coleslaw. I took the mac and cheese as my side. The sandwich consisted of a pile of very dry sliced roast port (no jus) and a tiny piece of melted cheese on a dry roll. No condiments, no jus, no broccoli rabe, as per the description on the Jerry's Homemade menu. The sandwich was pretty bad. The mac and cheese was also very dry and un-cheesy. I canvased several of my guests to get their feedback. The guests who ate early really liked the crispy chicken. However, everyone who had the roast pork or the cheesesteak said their sandwich was dry and not good. No tasted broccoli rabe in their roast pork sandwich. Guests also mentioned the truck had no condiments such as ketchup or mustard. I was not told to supply my own. Guests who had the chicken sandwich toward the end of the 2-hour serving time did not get the bacon on the sandwich, as per the description in the Jerry's Homemade menu. The workers packed up and left promptly at the end of the 2-hour service. At no time during the party did they approach me for help with anything, or suggestions to put out condiments. The number of guests at the party was actually a few less than the number we contracted for. In my opinion, there is no excuse for a food truck to run out of sides (i.e. coleslaw) or the ingredients for the sandwiches in a 2-hour contract when they had the guest count 10 days before. It is shocking to me that a sandwich truck would not offer guests mustard and ketchup (at the very least) for their sandwiches. Lastly, Jerry's has not called or emailed me since the event. We hired Jerry’s Kitchen for a graduation party yesterday and we also can’t say enough good things about the experience. We reached out to them about 2 months prior to our party, knowing they may be booked, but they emailed us back right away letting us know they had availability on the date we needed and provided us with all the information we needed. Brian and Maria showed up in the truck promptly at 2:00pm, the window was open and ready to serve everyone by 3pm. We chose pulled pork sandwiches, pulled chicken sandwiches, cheesesteaks, Mac and cheese and French fries. All 85 of our guests commented on how amazing the food was and the very generous portion sizes! We had about 10 sandwiches left and a good amount of Mac and cheese, Brian and Maria packed it all up for us and helped us bring it inside! I can not say enough good things about Brian and Maria! They were both so kind, efficient and so much fun! They talked to my son about college and what his plans are, they cheered the kids on playing cornhole, even made a couple ‘celebrity throws’ (which the boys loved)! You will not be disappointed hiring Jerry’s Kitchen for any of your food truck needs and consider yourself lucky if you get the honor of having Brian and Maria serve you and your guests! Scott and everyone at Jerry’s Kitchen... I have to write to tell you how absolutely wonderful everything was from Jerry’s Kitchen Caterers for my daughter’s bridal shower. The food was ABSOLUTELY delicious and got RAVE reviews from all my guests. I had the chicken cheesesteak with the crispy fries and it was one of the best chicken cheesesteaks I’ve ever had. My husband had the chicken Italiano and mac n cheese and enjoyed it very much. Andy and his helper (I apologize I forget her name) were professional, polite, and friendly throughout the entire day. So many of my guests took pictures of your truck and I hope you get more business from our party...I would definitely use your catering kitchen food truck again.
