Very nice place with a mature crowd. Karaoke is very fun, but the dj shows favoritism to the people who support over the years (his words, not mine), so it's hard to get on the mic. The salmon egg rolls are very good. The mussels are the worst! They were overly saturated with garlic and butter. In my first experience, the mussels were given in bag, which was filled with 90% butter and garlic (pictures below). I ask the manager or owner, "Is this how the mussels are usually served?" He said "yes" I was shocked. Because I've never had mussels served this way plus majority of the mussels were closed. I tried to push through and eat them, but I couldn't. The garlic and butter were too much.. The cook came out and knew my friend and she told him about the mussels and showed him the video and pictures. I asked him if this was normal. He took full accountability and stated that it wasn't his best work, and that isn't normally how the mussels are served. What did it for me was the manager who handled the situation like I just wanted something for free offering half off the item. Instead, bring the dish to the kitchen and have them correct the issues. I ordered two meals so it wasn't about the money. I just wanted quality food and to be heard. Customer service is crucial to a business it ensures return customers.. I said I would give them an other chance and order the mussels again when I return. I did. I ordered mussels and a fish platter with mac and cheese and green beans. The mussels were once again the worst same issue too much butter and garlic this time served in a bowl... The fish was good, mac and cheese, not so good, and green beans flavorless. I will return for the entertainment, but as far as food, I will only get salmon egg rolls

We came in from out of town for an event and didn't get to eat before. So at 9:45 on a Wednesday night I'm googling local food places as we drive to the hotel to check in. There was Julz, open until 1 AM and only 10 mins from the hotel. I placed the online order before immediately. When we pulled up it turned out it was also a kareoke place and bar & I started to worry that maybe the online orders being open was an error, but the bouncer waved us in and security sent us allllll the way to the back to stand between the kitchen door and the kareoke stage, where a man in a flawless Michael Jackson costume was about to take the mic. We took the food back the hotel and it was excellent. The greens were tender and just the right level of spicy, the yams were not too sweet, the lamb was tender, the wings were delicious. Absolutely will order here again next time we are in Philly & in case you are also looking for good food on a weeknight after everywhere else is closed, YES Julz's kitchen is open & the food is fantastic.

I will say if you plan on getting food you need to order as soon as you step foot in because it’s going to take about 40 mins. The food is good even if the portions are consistent. Last time I went there was just a little bit of fries but it didn’t bother me enough to complain because I wasn’t starving. You are going to have to scream to get some type of service there. Their drinks are all that and can be STRONG. The music and vibes is old school if you like that. The crowd is definitely an older crowd. You’ll see people 40+ in there. However, it’s all good vibes. I always get the lemon pepper wings and no you do not have to ask for them to fry hard they just do. Tables are hard to catch on the weekend so you may be standing.

We arrived there last night at about 8 PM. to celebrate a birthday. There were between 10-12 of us there. It was not crowded at all. The bar still had seats available, and there were several open tables. The DJ was definitely on point with the music for his crowd. The age range was 40 - 50 something. Our server, however, was all over the place. I asked for a drink menu and was told they didn't have one. I asked if they had flavored margaritas, and she told me. I ordered (by the way, drinks only come as doubles), and it took about 20 minutes for my drink to make it to me. After about an hour, I ordered a platter, and it took about an hour (and I'm being generous).

There was an issue with the food. Apparently, the mac and cheese is popular, and there was a wait for it. The kitchen manager told us that it would be 15-20 minutes for the mac & cheese to come out of the oven. 45 minutes later, still no Mac & cheese. When we asked our server, she told us it's still in the oven. There ended up being a big issue over mac & cheese unnecessarily. After all of that, the food was just OK. All in all, if you just want to hear good music and a half-way decent drink, then Julz is your place. I won't...

The atmosphere was great the music was good .BUT THE FOOD SERVICE WAS THE WORST. My friend ordered wings and onion rings. They gave me her onion rings and her my fries. Then said ok give it back and we will switch them my friend said no bring us out new fries and onion rings. I told the waitress I never asked for onion rings. She said I. Didn't take your order thr lady behind the bar did and they aren't supposed to do that. If I bring out fries and onion rings. I ha e to charge extra. They went back and so the waitress said ok I will bring it out.20 MINUTES WENT BY AND SHE. NEVER CAME BACK. SHE only had 3 tables. I stood up in the middle of the floor for an additional 7 minutes before she walked over I said we're the fries. The bar maid the first lady came.back over and apologize and offered my friend a drink on her she said no and sent the food back. Now my wings sat on the table for 30 minutes before the fries came out. I told both ladies first time I have been here and the last. This was not a good experience or impression..ownership needs to tighten up....
