Very clean and nice atmosphere. We came at lunch time and it was not too crowded so we got our food fast. Got the Chicken katsu and the Godzilla roll while my friend tried out the ramen. Top notch on the presentation of the food. I can't comment on the ramen but it looked good. My chicken katsu was okay. Nothing to rave about. They served me the miso soup first which makes sense but traditionally the miso should have come with the meal as it goes well when eating the katsu and rice. It was also missing some shredded cabbage which should automatically come with the meal. Just my little recommendation. Beside that the sushi roll that I got was good. I wasn't expecting to look like what I got but it was good. I would recommend the roll. Overall this is a good place to get some sushi and Japanese food. I would come back again to try out other rolls.

Normally I wouldn't give a bad review on the quality of a food since I think everyone's taste varies, but this time it was just simply bad. I had the Champion roll ordered online. One of the stated ingredients was lobster but they replaced it with two tempura shrimps without notice. Okay, even then I wouldn't have been writing this review if the taste had been fine. It's tasteless. The texture of the sushi feels like it was made from the cheap type of rice. The mayo sauce is worse than the one I have at home. Other ingredients just don't fit in well. It's my first order and also the last. FYI, this place is take-out only.

The food was very good. We were impressed by the quality and speed. The staff was very friendly and patient. There was a group of 8-10 tweens that were in there ordering bottles of water and soda and some rice and being very loud and rude. They handled it very well, even when the kids kept pushing and pushing. Great job, will definitely order from there when I'm back in the city.

I’m not one to write reviews, but I felt compelled to do so based on our experience at Kasumi. My family of 6 has been a loyal take-out customer of Kasumi since it opened its doors. Since we enjoy the food so much we decided to take everyone there for Valentine’s Day. We were one of the first groups at the restaurant. We ordered our food with no issues. Shortly after, the miso soups and salads arrived. One of my sons received his salad which came with the dinner he ordered. When it was time for the main course, the entrees came out as they were ready (e.g. Chickie’s and Pete’s style, which we hate). My youngest son received his meal 5 minutes before anyone else. Two of the same entrees came out next, we ordered 3 and were told the next one was coming. About 5 minutes later my oldest son’s entrée came out. At this point the restaurant was at capacity and also taking take-out orders. After 10 more minutes passed I told my wife to please eat her entrée. Fortunately, our sushi tray eventually made its way to us; however, 2 of the 6 entrees never did. Ironically enough, one entrée that did not find our table was the one where my son received his salad, but yet there was no record of him ordering an entrée. When asked if we needed anything else we mentioned having all of our dinners would be lovely.

At this point we simply asked for the bill so we can leave and go get my son dinner elsewhere. Prior to the bill coming, but after having the conversation of missing food we were then asked if we wanted dessert. Why would I want dessert when 2 family member did not even eat at that point? They were clearly overwhelmed with the Valentine’s eat-in and take-out crowd, but the priority clearly seemed to be on the take-out. We received our bill, which of course was not credited with anything for our inconvenience. For the sake of arguing on Valentine’s Day, we paid the full bill (at least it didn’t have the 2 dinners that never arrived) and left.

We will certainly never eat at Kasumi again and that includes take-out. Service was slow and customer service was horrific. If you’re overwhelmed, have a plan for holidays or hire more people. Perhaps also focus on the customers in the store and have someone else run the take-out portion. This was truly disappointing for a Valentine’s Day dinner with the kids. My wife and I get to go out for another dinner, but my poor son was forced to go home and eat leftovers from the fridge. Thanks for...

I was so happy when you first opened to have a real Japanese restaurant in the neighborhood and enjoyed many meals pre-pandemic. Tonight’s take-out though was a disaster and I feel compelled to let you know why I will no longer be a customer. I think you should review your website’s shopping cart to see why my card showed a charge but you saw no record of the order. That problem I know will be resolved and can be overlooked. The chirashi you sent however was a disgrace! I don’t know where to start. The sushi rice was dry and bitter. The selection of protein was abominable. The one limp shrimp, scraps of tomago and shreds if kani didn’t even reach supermarket quality! The other sashimi slices did not taste fresh and some were “mushy” in consistency. Even the ginger slices were dried out and leathery. In short the entire dish...
