So my family and I have been planning to come here since they started building the place and had a Coming Soon sign. We love seafood. We tried it for the first time last night. The create your own seafood boils we’re good. I just hate that the sides were a la carte. I wish it came with something and then we could add on as a family of 6 (mostly adults) can get pricey. My husband ordered the shrimp po boy and it was dry could of been more sauce. My oldest son has the shrimp fried rice, he said it was good. My 3 younger kids and myself had the boil and I ordered the Shrimple Fried Rice. The waitress kept apologizing all night about this large party that came in before us. I guess they aren’t prepared for crowds that size because it was only 2 waitresses on shift. My family was a party of 6, the other family was maybe 10-12 and then one young lady in there alone. I can see how that can be a lot for the kitchen if they aren’t prepared. Also when all of our food came I noticed my Shrimple Fried Rice did not. I asked the waitress where it was and she said bc the kitchen was swamped they messed the order up and never made it etc. but she never came and told us that at all. Then asked Did I still want her to put the order for it back in? I mean clearly bc I wanted it to eat with the kids but I was ready to finish my boil and go. We just said Nevermind. The food was good but maybe more staff and cooks to avoid the wait and mishaps. It’s still new so they’ll get it together. Overall things were good and we may go back just not on the weekend and in...
Read moreIf I can give zero stars I would, please stay away from this place. Management is very unprofessional.
My family have been waiting to try this place for a while. We finally decided to try this place and my mom was super exited because she wanted this fish po’ boy (made with cod). We got our food, starting to enjoyed our family night when she noticed, after starting her sandwich, that it was shrimp. She is allergic to shrimp. Now mistakes happen, however, this was not a simple mistake. Thankfully my mom didn’t have to get rushed to the hospital.
I called the restaurant to speak with the manager. Mike came on the phone and didn’t believe they made a mistake. He was very condescending with his responses and even made jokes about the refund saying “I can give for a refund for just the sandwich and a piece of key lime pieee” in a funny tone. I have never felt so disrespected in my life. This is mother and if anything were for happen to her, it would have been very devastating. I asked for a full refund and was told that wasn’t going to happened, but I can bring the sandwich and receipt back.
When I went back Mike left, leaving his associates to deal with this issue that is still not resolved. Mangers are suppose to be leaders for their staff and the fact that he left just shows he is not ready for a leadership position. I’m just very disappointed and will not support this business or the...
Read moreLong story short: Stay away unless you enjoy wasting money. I’m just gonna pretend like I never visited this place and continue to go to laurel seafood. They have better food and customer service. Not to mention they’re much more affordable as well.
I was looking at the reviews and thought the way the owner leaves comments on customers’ reviews were hysterical so I thought I might give them a visit myself.
Food was mediocre at best. But the price is something you’d see at a 3 Michelin star gourmet full course seafood restaurant. Some of the employees were helpful but the food was just not it. Not sure why the owner has such a massive ego. My fried flounder was burnt and half of my fried shrimp were burnt and the other half was just not cooked. I left without making a big deal out of it because I knew I wasn’t gonna be returning anyways.
The owner of Keep it Shrimple seriously needs to learn how to run a business. The way he talks to his customers itself is an enough reason to stay away from this place. Not to mention the food doesn’t back up the...
