We really enjoyed the food and the 'feel' of the restaurant. It is an older place (which could probably use some updating), so it is kind of dark and borderline dingy (excuse the pun), but it wasn't at all unkempt. The service was excellent. The waitress was knowledgeable, helpful, and just chatty enough to make the whole experience wonderful. The Piña Coladas were very tasty and VERY STRONG! They have a decent collection of beers on tap and in bottles. I had the Snapper Soup which was unique and very savory. It has a cinnamon and slightly chocolate flavor, but not at all sweet, and just a tad bit of spiciness to give it a low, slow burning lick. I can see why people come back JUST for this soup. Cooked fresh, in-house daily, you should try it at least once. It does NOT 'taste like chicken', but it's definitely NOT a strong or gamey flavor, if you're worried about what snapper turtle tastes like... The Buffalo Shrimp, in my opinion, were good... Not great. They were enormous and cooked to perfection, but then just coated with buffalo sauce... Still, it was a good, safe appetizer, and everyone at the table RAVED about how good they were (not too spicy... Low to medium heat). Half dozen raw clams on the half shell are possibly the best I've ever had. Big, fresh, and presented very well with excellent cocktail sauce. I think they put a little salt and lemon on them before, but they were absolutely delicious! Salad was average at best, but I wasn't there for the salad... Broiled seafood combo was excellent. I've read some comments that the seasoning is borderline bland... I would say that they are very light on the seasoning, but only to let the seafood flavor shine. You can always add salt or other spices... Once it's cooked, you can't take those spices (salt) away. Roasted potato wedges were hot, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. Pepper hash was surprisingly sweet (like a really light cole slaw), not even remotely spicy, and a wonderful counterbalance to the rest of my savory meal. The Key Lime Pie was the best I've ever had. The pie filling itself was select fully sweet but with just enough acidity and even a slight amount of bitterness from the zest to make this a perfectly prepared pie filling. And then the crust.... Ohh mama... Graham cracker crust... CARAMEUZED... to give it great texture and a tinge of smokiness to round out the whole dessert experience. Everyone at our table was thrilled with the food - its quality, portion size, and taste. My middle son said the scallops were 'by far, the best (he's) ever had...', and that may be hard to argue. The scallops as we had them across the whole table were big, juicy and perfectly prepared so they were neither under or over cooked. I will be back to have their crab cakes, which also seem to be...
Read moreBeing a business owner myself I never like to leave bad reviews so this is a first for me....I had a wedding lunch at this restaurant for my daughter and her husband and 23 other people family friends and parents my daughter and her husband came in from New York everything was fine the meal came with all the trimmings soup salad and the main course. But what happened that was bad the waitress that we had was a panhandling thief she charged each one of my guest for ice tea that was free and damn near begged them for tips from the ice tea that she wasn't even supposed to charge them for. She lied and said It wasn't free when she knew that it was. I'm really pissed because she ran her scam on my 77 year old mother. Then to top it off when it came time for me to Pay the bill the 18% gratuity was included she lied and told me although it's included that her boss was not going to give it to her or at least not all of it. So I was guilted into giving her more money because of the lie she told. I hate to use the race card but I could only imagine what would happen if I did something like this as a black man being the waiter and taking advantage of a white family like she did my friends and family I'm sure I would be fired and maybe arrested. This was a once in a lifetime event for my daughter and her husband and it was ruined by a waitress that was a thief. Although the owners seem like very nice guys why they act oblivious to my point of what went tragically wrong at this wedding luncheon is beyond me. I was embarrassed insulted and felt scammed at Kelly's Seafood. I will never go back and I told my friend not to have her dads 8Oth birthday dinner there. I'm not telling you not to go I'm telling you to be aware.

Read moreA colleague and I came to kelly’s seafood after hearing rave reviews about how good the food was upon arriving the outside of Kelly’s seafood may give you a false impression of what it looks like on the inside but once you walk through those doors you’ll feel right at home the atmosphere is homey And the bar looks very cozy.
Unfortunately Getting seated is not very classy our waitress from another room way yelled “ You guys sit here “ just rude !!
After taking a gander at the menu you may have the same question that’s so many seem to have that question is “ Is the seafood 🦞 fresh today or is it fresh frozen ?
Appetizers were mussels and a shrimp cocktail my colleague told me that the mussels tasted fresh but I on the other hand thought that the shrimp were bland and chewy which would indicate that they may have been frozen. Also to note the shrimp were cleaned but unfortunately not the devained kinda gross.
I had the salmon 🍣 unfortunately the salmon was a little overdone and tough which indicates that the kitchen cooks are not very educated on cooking salmon and keeping it-based it in butter to keep it moist and the succulent. The lobster tail at market price was $28 which is a little insane for the size of the tail !! The taste was not buttery smooth and succulent it was dry and tough like it was put on the grill for to long.
When you’re spending $100+ for dinner and that question keeps lingering “ Is the seafood fresh today or fresh frozen ? “ When you spend this kind of money for dinner that question should...
