Think of this as the indulgent (bougie?) Mexican food truck. The food is more like what you'd get in a sit-down restaurant, which makes sense because it takes them a while to prepare it. Not speedy, but not slow either. I ordered the special shrimp tacos and they were great. The roasted poblano flavor was strong, making it clear that they really know authentic ingredients. My tacos were cheesy, gooey, creamy. My fingers were messy and I had to use utensils to scoop up the stuff that fell out of the double soft corn tortillas. Not what you want if you're rushing between classes, or hoping to eat in a hurry. But if you have time to sit down and enjoy your meal, with napkins close at hand, this is a solid choice. They used to have the best Birria tacos, super seasoned, perfect amount of meat. Now it’s less meat ( as of my last order, it seemed as though they were rationing, I got more cheese and toppings than actual meat) and little to no seasoning. To be clear this order was at 10/11 am, so it was the start of lunch. The recipe changed! Last year I bought from them constantly, but not anymore. I went to this food truck after class one day hoping to get some better Mexican food then just the Chipotle on Temples Campus. I ordered the Al Pastor Quesadilla and it was probably one of the best quesadillas I’ve tasted! The service was super quick and much cheaper then most of the food on campus, for a good portion of food as well. I recommend not skipping on their Al Pastor selection either in burrito, tacos, or quesadillas. They also have Jarritos drinks which are great Mexican sodas that are hard to come by in the area!
