Blaze Pizza — Restaurant in Philadelphia

Normally love this place but had a terrible experience today. I've never seen employees who just don't care as much as these people. Watched some of them mix redbull and Agua Fresca behind the counter instead of taking burning pizzas out of the oven. Why was outside food and beverage allowed in the prep area in the first place? That's a big no no in food service. I stopped an employee after she didn't ask what sauce I wanted and just assumed I wanted red sauce. Her response was to rudely stare at me like I was an idiot, and then turn to the next person in line and ask what sauce he wanted. He wanted spicy. Instead of just redoing the pizza or setting it aside, she dumped a ton of spicy sauce on top of the pizza that was already covered in red sauce. That pizza was swimming in sauce and borderline inedible but they served it to him anyway, because they just didn't care. Blaze pizza is a wonderful college town pizza place! It's definitely like a hipster type of establishment. The pizza is of the ultra thin crust variety. While that's not my personal favorite for pizza, I absolutely loved my experience here. The employees were happy and motivated, which really adds to the great feeling. The pizza - crust is crispy and able to hold the toppings, which is the test for ultra thin pizza. Flavor of the crust reminds you of a soft pretzel. The sauce - this is where the action happens for this pizza! The sauce is zingy! It dances on your tongue with a hearty flavor that begs you to eat more. Fortunately, it's a medium weight sauce with some texture so it doesn't run everywhere. The toppings - tasted better than average for sure, and seemed quite fresh. I love pizza.

Now that we've gotten that out of the way, Blaze Pizza is the way to go. Being able to get as many toppings as I want for a fixed price is amazing. There's no additional charge for extra cheese either which is perfect for us cheese lovers. My only complaint is the size. I wish there were size options. This pizza is roughly a medium. If you're like me, sharing this pizza is difficult. Other than that, I'm always satisfied with my meal.

Edit: Danny G is awesome. He was busting his butt and working multiple positions during our visit. I didn't know he was a shift leader until he rang out our order. He answered our questions and let us get to know him a little better never once sacrificing service during our 2 minute chat. My girlfriend was a first timer. Between her experience with Danny and the taste of the food, she's sold. The world needs...
