How are you going to have "Love" in the name of your restaurant and come to the service window with an attitude? The first guy was downright dry and should not be dealing with customers face to face. The young "lady" was worse. She kept making faces behind customers backs as they walked away. Second, it shouldn't take you an hour and 20 mins to make chicken tenders. It is one of your main menu items, so you need to have that dropped on heavy rotation. They clearly don't know how to run a restaurant. On top of that, I saw people come to the window and place an order well after I had placed my order online and they got their order with no issues. I am pretty sure they are prioritizing UberEats and walks-up over online orders. So, if you decide to eat here, do it through UberEats or walkup. When I asked to cancel my order, due to them going over the stated hour to prep the food, her attitude got worse and she wanted to argue. I refused. She then started talking about me to our co-workers who thought it was wise to mean mugged me with some weird gestures. Do not spend your money in places where you are tolerated, because these folks certainly do not deserve your money, at all.
Update: Ignore the establishment's response. The order was placed at 8:06 p.m. and it was ready at around 9:20-9:25 p.m. It was nowhere near 45 minutes. AND I witnessed a lady walk up and place an order and she got it well before my order was ready. I'm not emailing you. Instead, train your workers to be better people. There is no reason why a cashier should make faces at customers as they walk away. I grew more and more disgusted as I watched her do it. Fix...
Read moreLet me start by being totally upfront with you. I am related to the couple that owns Love & Honey Fried Chicken. I am Laura Lyons' younger sister. But don't stop reading. If you have a sibling than you might understand that I would jump at the chance to criticize my big sister if I could. And while I can criticize her taste in music or the clothes she wears I can NOT find fault with her restaurant or the food she and her husband have created. I am filled with pride for Laura and Todd. I saw the time, energy and love they put into creating Love & Honey Fried Chicken and it was worth all the effort.
Today I came to visit from Austin, TX - a place known for great fried chicken - to check out Love & Honey with the critical eye of a little sister. Here are a few highlights:
The fried chicken and chicken wings are the best I've ever had. They are juicy on the inside and so crunchy on the outside. The hint of honey made for a delightful flavor. I ate WAY too much of the chicken. Usually I'm a sides kind of gal but I could eat this chicken all day!
The mac & cheese was so creamy and delicious that I actually got angry that Laura and Todd had never made it for me before.
The Key Lime Pie was so good. Tart in all the right places. I particularly liked the crust.
I got to taste most everything and really it was all good. The slaw, potato salad, collard greens and of course the cornbread muffins.
Really, it was all good?? Yes, it was. I couldn't find ANYTHING to criticize? No...and I really tried! I even love their selection of drinks in the cooler. Please check it out. Bring a friend or even...
Read moreOrder for the eagles game and been wanting to try this spot for a min, a colleague of mine told me this spot hit! I had to control myself from eating it in the car before going back to the crib. The chicken was golden brown, juicy and moist fried to perfection and kissed with honey, although they were SUPER STINGY on the honey drizzle.
The people who run this place must know that they're very good. To base a restaurant just on your fried chicken in an off-beat corner of town, you have to have special confidence that it's going to work. The chicken was moist, tender and flavorful. The breading is nice & crisp. The sauces def boosted the buds the McLovin, Brown Sugar BBQ & the 3 mini hot sauces. If you a tender, drumstick or thigh lover, these joints look like they are on steroids. Fried chicken should be good without hot sauce. It felt more like the batter was seasoned but not the chicken. I could actually taste a bit of the flour. Overall it was alright, but missing that southern seasoning magic. The chicken was cooked perfectly for on the bone chicken.
What won me over was the tater tots , they were fire and crispy. I loved the cornbread muffins that was different than others, wasn't too overpowering but perfect mixture of the honey butter!!! Probably the softest, most tender honey butter cornbread Iâve had. I don't know who did the baking job, but KEEP them & give em a RAISE
I don't want to take that away from them. The negative is it came cold and they were stingy with the honey drizzle. SUPER! Probably need to try this...
