I will give credit when it's due and this is a great workout and the instructors are wonderful. Anna is my favorite!
I will also let you know when I've been discriminated against. This past year of the pandemic that I've worked as a health care worker I've never felt more humiliated and disrespected as I did as my experience in dealing with Courtney, studio manager at OTF northern liberties.
I started classes at this studio in January of 2021. There's 2 apps through which I could book classes- Mind body studio or the Orange theory fitness app. I had issues all the time with the OTF app and the front desk would always mention they've been having issues with it too and and shared my frustrations. I've sent multiple emails regarding the same and I'm happy to share them.
There was limited spots in each classes because of Covid and I appreciated the precautions they took. Like most other studios, you had to cancel 8 hours prior to the class.
The month of May I had to change a lot of classes that I booked due to scheduling issues. Aware of their 8 hour cancellation policy, I consciously cancelled 3 classes way before the 8 hour window through my mind body app. At some point the mind body and OTF app had what I'm assuming to be syncing issues. Unfortunately this meant that the studio did not get notification of me canceling my class and charged me for 3 classes as late cancellation. I called the studio and explained the situation and was told the manager would call me back.
I called mind body studio customer care and explained my situation- they explained to me that the way their app was built- they only have record of what time a class is booked. If it is canceled they do not have a record of what time it was cancelled and they do not send any emails either when you cancel a class. So I guess it came down to my word against an app with a lot of issues.
4 days later, I finally received a call back from Courtney and explained my situation. She flat out told me that in her record she could see that I had not cancelled the class and indirectly accused me of lying. I was upset and told her that I'm not one to call and lie. Courtney then said that if she did refund all classes my account would be "flagged" and that she was basically ready to do me a favor and refund one class or else the instructors would lose money. I told her she wasn't really doing me a favor since I paid for those classes. Why was I being made to feel like I was robbing the instructor of their salary by simply asking for my classes that I paid for. I even emailed her screenshots of my OTF app saying it doesn't even show any of the classes I had booked for the month of June (and I had booked 8 on the mind body app) she replied and said "Unfortunately we don’t develop the app personally at our studio so our ability to help with that is limited other than helping you put in a tech support ticket on your end through the app."
Anyway I finally cancelled my membership because of this terrible experience. Booking classes to work out shouldn't be this hard. And if a studio/app has screw ups, the customer shouldn't have to pay for it.
This experience left me pretty sour and I will definitely warn people to think twice before picking this studio...

The workout is centered around heart rate monitoring, with participants wearing heart rate monitors that track their heart rate throughout the workout. One of the benefits of Orange Theory Fitness is that the workouts are led by certified coaches who provide guidance and motivation throughout the workout. Additionally, the program is designed to be scalable for people of all fitness levels, so beginners and experienced exercisers can both participate.
I truly love coming here. The staff is so nice and helpful. Regular gyms give me anxiety and I feel like I don’t belong. But this place is so welcoming. And because everyone is doing the same thing I feel more comfortable...
Read moreI am absolutely blown away by the incredible experience I've had at OTF Northern Libs. After two years of inactivity and battling severe social anxiety, I was hesitant to try a workout class (let’s face it, they are super intimidating). However, from the moment I stepped into OTF Northern Libs, I was greeted with warmth and encouragement.
Over the course of 5 months and 100 classes, I've seen remarkable changes in my health and fitness, shedding 30 pounds and gaining confidence I never thought possible. This journey wouldn't have been possible without the exceptional support and guidance of the coaching staff, particularly Anna and Nicole. Their welcoming demeanor, inclusivity, and patience, (I wouldn’t say I’m the most coordinated person), have made all the difference.
I wholeheartedly recommend OTF Northern Libs to anyone looking to transform their health and well-being. It's not just a gym; it's a community that empowers and uplifts you every...
