This place always shows you a good time!
On my last visit, we went on a Saturday night around 10/10:30ish. We had driven in and were able to find street parking right around the corner. It was fairly busy from what I could get from the crowds in the area so we may have just gotten lucky with the parking situation. If you plan on driving in, I think you will be fine, just may need to circle a few times or park a little further out than we did.
When we arrived to go inside, a line had formed so we had to wait it out - it was a warm evening, so we didn't mind waiting a little. They also have some nice heated lamps outside in case you were feeling a chill. The wait wasn't too long and we were inside within 10 minutes maximum.
Inside, it's a nice atmosphere. The first part of it opens up to a bar towards the left and a covered seating area. The rest of the space (and majority of the property) is open/uncovered with picnic tables for sitting/eating/playing games (each table seemed to have two Jenga games going on) with heated lamps all around. There are also many fire pits with long benches boxing each pit that are convenient for sitting and to enjoy the fire. Towards the back, there are ping pong tables for more fun.
The beer selection is also on point, with lots of options. I recommend the grapefruit beer - delicious! The beer is served in either half or full liter, and there are also wine options in case you prefer that instead. As per any proper biergarten - there are pretzels (and other eats) available that come with a variety of dressings.
The experience is always fun here! It's a chill and clean environment, with lots of space, heat [:)], good food, and great beer/wine selection at very decent pricing! Great place to gather a group of friends to hang out and enjoy each...
Read moreWow, first time at a German Beer Garden! First impression of the place was pretty good; there were wide open doors, which open up to a nice indoor area that had an outdoor square right inside the area. There were ping pong tables, a lot of JENGA, and a foosball machine. Really chill place!
Food: So it's German food, but I think its somewhat fast food. Their selection for food is really limited, but I think it's because they mostly prioritize on their beer. They have a bunch of appetizers, frankfurters, and burgers. They had a few sides, specials, and desserts as well. Everything is really pricey!! I had The Kanzler, which was the most expensive burger they have. It was good, but there really wasn't anything special about it. The side of fries that came with it was pretty decent; I think they were Idaho. The ketchup is a curry ketchup, which I was fine with (but my friends didn't like it). My friends had a frankfurter, classic burger, and their red cabbage. The red cabbage was ok, but didn't look appetizing. Overall, food wasn't that great. As for their drinks, they have a huge selection! A lot of them had German names, so it was a good experience!
Entertainment This is a pretty good aspect of the place. The open area, the way the place is made for groups of friends/co-workers, the free ping pong, JENGA, and foosball, make this place a pretty good place to come to hang out. A lot of the people who come here are friendly. I believe there are also regulars here. Some people actually bring kids here, which was surprising!
Service Not much service, but the staff is pretty nice. You just order from a window, and they bring the food to you.
Pros: Space, Stuff to do, beer!! Cons: Food way to pricey, food was just average...
Read moreI really enjoyed this beer garden. It reminded me of some of the places we had been to in Germany. The relaxed atmosphere is great. We spent about 3 hours here and we never felt like we had to move along. The beers were delicious, as was the German food. There is a large selection of German beers and there are also domestic beers. (I went with the German beer.)
The reason why I gave this place 4 Stars instead of 5 is because of the bartenders. I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt and say maybe they were just having a bad day, but they had zero personality. They seemed as if they were doing us a favor by pouring us beer. One in particular was very unfriendly! I was waiting at the bar for my turn to order, and when I stepped up to the bar, I know he saw me there. He turned around and went to the other side of the bar. While I was waiting for him to come back, 2 men came up to another part of the bar and when the bartender turned around to come back to serve, he went to those men before me. I commented that I had been waiting, but he either did not hear me or ignored me. I then had to go over to another bartender who had just come back to be served.
Everyone else there was wonderful and really pleasant. (the girl at the door, the girl at the kitchen counter, the people cleaning up the plates and glasses, and the food runners) There were 4 of us in our party and we all loved everything about Frankford Hall except for...
