I've been going to Manhattan Bagel in Roxborough for 20 years, and I've never been disappointed with the service, the staff, or the food! They draw large crowds between about 10am and 12pm on Saturdays and Sundays, but despite long lines, I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes from the time I've walked in the door to the time my order has been fulfilled. Parking can be difficult during busy hours as their lot is small and is shared by a couple of other businesses in the same little shopping center. During busy hours I sometimes have to park along Monastery Ave. usually less than a block from the store. There are approx 10 tables inside and a TV (on mute with closed captioning) mounted in an upper corner of the wall with CNN or some other news station on, which is nice to be able to watch if you have to wait a few minutes for your order. The vast majority of orders are for takeout. They are open for breakfast and lunch, until approx 3pm (although hours are slightly different on weekdays vs. weekends). You may order anything on the menu at any time; there is no cutoff time for breakfast vs. lunch. Lots of great options for hot/grilled or cold breakfast and lunch sandwiches, soups, salads, and other sides. Sandwiches can be made on your choice of any variety of bagel or several different types of bread or rolls. If you don't see a particular type of sandwich on the menu that strikes your fancy, they can just make whatever kind of sandwich you want. Freshly made bagels (available in at least 15 or 20 flavors), assorted pastries, and other baked goods are also sold individually or by the dozen (or in any quantity you choose), as are many flavors and varieties of packaged cream cheese and other spreads, juices, soft drinks, and several varieties of both iced and hot tea and coffee (including decaffeinated). Food is always made to order and is always fresh and delicious. Prices are competitive and coupons are frequently published in weekly circulars and newspapers. You may also opt in to receive text messages with additional coupons, and if you provide your birthday (month & day only), you'll receive a lot of extra valuable coupons throughout the month of your birthday. I love Manhattan Bagel and would highly...
Read moreNot only was my door dash order messed up, which was for 1/2 dozen bagels, which I was given the option to select 1 kind, which I did—French toast. When my order arrived, I had a bag full of EVERYTHING bagels. I immediately contacted door dash, and they verified the cost $24.18 and that I did select 1/2 dozen French toast. They credited my account. I then asked them to give me the number to the Manhattan Bagel store this delivery came from (Roxborough). I then called, and the worker kept telling me she could not hear me (it was loud in there, as I know it was also breakfast rush), so I spoke louder. I explained the situation, and she was rude, condescending, and told me “uh no you didn’t specify what kind so yeah we threw in whatever”. I told her, again, that was not true. She got louder with more attitude, and so did I. She then must have muted the phone and grabbed another employee, perhaps a manager. The minute that woman got on the phone, she was rude, told me I didn’t specify and therefore it was my fault and to deal with it. I got loud, admittedly, as I was looking at my order in door dash and it was clearly selected as I mentioned. She told me I was wrong and didn’t know what I was talking about. I again said I just want this fixed and how would you like me to order in the future, as I actually did select things correctly. I explained that this is a total waste of my $24.18, to which she became louder and said “uh yeah right no you didn’t spend $24.18, stop lying.” I assure you, the total was $24.18. It continued to escalate, and yes I was very upset and irritated by this point, especially as this woman was probably a manager who could care less. AWFUL customer service, and way to try to help your consumer figure out how to avoid this in the future, but rather lectured me and called me a liar multiple times. I fully understand I was upset and angry, and yes I did raise my voice….but when I spoke normally I was talked over and told they couldn’t hear me. So……? I ended the call and will never come to this location again. You are the business, and telling your consumer they don’t know what they’re talking about, and not at all being willing to help, completely...
Read moreI requested at time of order extra extra extra cream cheese . When I noticed I was not given extra , I politely asked the staff to please add more . The staff member proceeded to argue with me . She told me she put some on both sides and I said that’s fine but I would like a little more . Mind you my order came to $18. She then snatches my order and puts cream cheese on the side and tells me “you’re welcome “. If I’m paying for a service I expect to receive good service . Will be contacting corporate.
Update 6/21/24 So I ordered my fav bagel through grubhub & picked it up. Of course it was incorrect. Of course I was given attitude when I asked for my order to be corrected . This will be the last time I give them my hard earned money .
Update 8/28
