Tsaocaa — Restaurant in Philadelphia

This place has a seriously good chicken sandwich, it's our new go-to "we don't want to cook dinner tonight" place and we often will take it to the park nearby when hanging out with friends, since it's not too messy or hard to eat outside.

Tonight we ordered the tokoyaki and when we got home were surprised by the way the super thin slices of tuna on top seem to move on their own. Since this isn't something that's happened to us before with food we called the restaurant to ask about if that was a thing that normally occurs, and five minutes later the owner called us back to explain it's just how they curl because of the way they are heated. He was super nice and explained how they're cooked and why they do that, and after we got off the phone we tried them and they are in fact super tasty.

It was an unexpected experience - honestly I feel a little silly about not knowing! - but the owner was so nice and thoughtful, we definitely will continue going and recommending it to friends. Ordered one Dragonfruit slushie and everyone else in front of me had been complaining that it took well over 30+ minutes to recieve their drinks. Their system for telling people their order is ready is non-existant and you will need to go up and ask where your order is. They blanantly lied to new customers coming in how long it would take for their drinks, not food, just drinks, to be given to them (they claimed it would be 5 to 10 minutes when myself and the rest of those waiting had been there for 30+ minutes and had not been given anything except the statement of it being ready 'soon'.)

I ordered using the standing kiosk, put my phone number, name (first and last) and what i wanted in, paid and was told from it i'd recieve a text to confirm. Did not get it. Asked the man taking orders if it went through he said, "yes, wait". I placed my order at 4:04 i did not get it until 4:54. I waited and waited. Nothing. Others were as angry as I was. I understand being overwhelmed but this was insane.

The drink was awful and not worth it.

I was sooo excited to get my order however when I started eating them YES, the crunch is there, good thing the box ha sooen spacd so it won't completely be soggy.

I ordered the cheeseling because it has benmy fave. Just disappointed with the flavor profile- this one is just like a dusting of cheeseling. Inwas picturing the very first time when they openeda few years ago in chinatown the cheeseling flavor is full impact and that's how I love it. It has been consistent but this one it seems like a dusting of cheeseling flavor.

I give 2 stars because it's still crunchy it could be more crunchier. The inside of the meat chicken is not as flavorful and tender. Idk why it just tasted differently this time. I have ordered ths to go many times. This one hits differently. Needs impovement.

2 start only becaus the octopus inside the takoyaki is way too rubbery. The takoyaki itself tasted different.

At least I tried once. Would i order it again? Nooo once is enough. Unless is doused with sooo much cheeseling...
