ReAnimator Coffee — Restaurant in Philadelphia

I just moved to Fishtown and on my way to work I decided to check this spot out to see if it was going to be my local coffee spot. When I’m going to work in the morning and I stop for coffee I’m looking for a pleasant interaction to start my day just as much as I’m looking for good coffee. If you’re a decent person it’s not hard to be friendly and I found they were not friendly or inclusive in their vibe. Don’t get me wrong they weren’t outright rude but I was not met with a smile and the tone of the girl who took my order has the vibe that she was annoyed I was there. As a chef I’m far from unfamiliar with the stresses of the service industry but it just really wasn’t an inviting vibe or tone. It’s a damn shame too because I would have been in there pretty much every day. I got an iced coffee and it was pretty decent. All around this spot did not meet my standards but I’ll give them another try...

I mean, its a well established coffee shop in the city, the coffee is pretty good and the prices are certainly reasonable.

My only issue which really would be hard to be solved from the staff/owners is the constant parade of dogs 24/7. I get it, its Fishtown so its very expected, but as someone that doesnt really care for them its kind of annoying everyone assumes you do! This is more of a note to customers that they need to control theirs dogs and know when to take them into establishments, if your 100 pound dog likes to eye children like a snack maybe leave them outside. Also try not to have the leash so far extended that it can walk up to people eating/drinking, just gross. Again this is more about customers than the actual...

Pretty good place for third wave speciality coffee if you are into good coffee that is. Visited this roaster a few times in the last 6 years. Quality of coffee is pretty decent. However, during my last visit in January 2025, the barista reminded me thrice during my conversation with him that they were going to close in an hour! An hour is a long time and we were just ordering 3 espressos. He kept smiling though all the time. But both me and my son, we were a little put off by his reminder that they were closing in an hour despite his smile.
