I am a Santucci's lover... I grew up right near "O" street location 20 years ago. I have been to most of the franchise locations and I just never have such annoying experiences as I do at this one in Roxborough. I am not sure if its an owner thing? IDK. Anyway I called today I wanted a small plain (cheese and sauce) stromboli. I get this WEEKLY from one of 2 locations near my house. But this location is close to work so I called them. They acted like they couldn't make it at first (long pauses on the phone). Then they said they couldn't put sauce in it but could put "marinara" on the side... ok... So I pick up the $16 SMALL cheese and sauce stromboli ($12 at other locations). The sauce on the side was indeed marinara, not pizza sauce. Which I should've realized it was odd she said marinara... I called back while I was still parked around the corner and asked if I could just swap marinara sauce for PIZZA sauce and they said "no, the pizza sauce is RAW we cannot SELL it".... umm first off... I didn't want to "buy" sauce... I wanted the type of sauce that should be coming with a STROMBOLI. Second... umm why is your pizza sauce "raw"? Are you not mass cooking your tomato pizza sauce? Very odd situation. I go here often but just usually get a pie... I just wont anymore... the past few times I have ordered its just been a funky encounter and to be honest, as someone who has eaten Santuccis from MANY different franchises, this one doesn't measure up. $16 mistake. Also the stromboli was very long and skinny... it was cut in half so two logs... cheese was all over... it...
Read moreSuper hurt about my experience today it was horrible I hate giving bad reviews but I have to defentinly a place to skip if your a person of color I felt like I wasn't wanted there. Me and my 2yr old daughter were out for a walk and decided to stop for pizza (her favorite) and ive heard mixed reviews about the pizza put we're foodys so I like to try before making my mind up big mistake first our waiter he was so rude he ignored us the whole time there were only 2 tables with us 3 and he came to our table 3 times once for our water then order then check he checked on both tables and skiped us brought our apps out sat it on the table and walked away I said thank you at least a million times no response just rude! Then 2 other tables walked and he really started to skip over us I was waiting for share plates till he took the other 2 tables order I just didn't understand. But then the pizza, we got the margherita pizza very bland and dry just no flavor and absolutely no cheese . It's safe to say I won't be dinning there ever again bonus; they...
Read moreMy partner & I tried this place after an exhausting day of traveling from Florida. We have never been to Philly, so Santucci's was quite literally our first impression of the food here. What a TERRIBLE first impression! We ordered a Large "The Works" pizza & let me just say, we should've read the Google reviews first. The negative reviews are 1000% on point. The sauce was so soupy it was basically red water on the extremely soggy crust, cheese was practically non-existent & all of our toppings were crunchy & raw! The mushrooms definitely come straight from a can & I have no doubt the bland, unseasoned, plain tomato sauce that they call pizza sauce does as well. I hadn't eaten all day & was starving. I had 1 slice & just went to bed hungry. Ironically, the pizza was slightly better & less soupy 2 days later when it was reheated in the oven. No way in hell was this pizza worth $30, or even $10. Straight up robbery for an insulting excuse of a pizza. Save your money & go straight to the freezer aisle- your wallet & tummy...
