Not the hangover cure I was hoping for. Walked here after a night's worth of pub crawling up passyunk. I was seated at the counter and promptly ordered as I knew what I wanted already. I got an order of takoyaki and the terakawa special ramen. The takoyaki was good, even if slightly non traditional. They were clearly deep fried instead of using the takoyaki pan. Flavor wise it was about the same, but the texture was crispier on the outside. The ramen was good, but missing something. The broth is very pork heavy, similar to tonkatsu but upped by a factor of 10. It wasn't greasy but you can tell what the main ingredient is. The noodles were excellent. Way better than normal noodles in both texture and flavor. I wasn't asked which version I wanted(they have 2 noodle sizes) but I believe I got the thinner version. They were tender but still had a nice bite, not mushy or undercooked. The chunks of pork belly was cooked well and tender too. But overall it seemed as if something was missing. Maybe it's my inexperience with real ramen and not the instant or homemade versions I make, but it was kind of one note flavor. But what really killed it was the bugs I saw crawling on the kitchen wall while I was eating. I get that its hard in an urban area to keep them out completely, but the fact I saw multiple during the day while they were busy did it in. I've eaten in a few suspect bars and holes in the wall to know not to look too hard, but it was in my face. The seating area looked nice and clean. Staff was friendly, I saw them wiping down tables between guests but their kitchen needs a thorough scrub...

I had been to the restaurant at least three times and decided to have lunch there again with my friend. The curry udon looks nothing like what is on the menu (it is full of water, very diluted curry), so I approached the waitress and asked her why it looks different from the menu. She didn’t explain to me and just approached another waitress, they immediately started talking in non-English dialect that I don’t understand, which made me feel offended. She ended up saying she would give me a bowl to scoop out the water, and some extra curry. But her colleague then went up to me with bad temper, saying that I called them fake (I didn’t use the term at all), that I didn’t ask them, that I should not expect everything to show up l exactly the sameā€ as in the menu, and said that she ā€œis doing me a favourā€ for giving me the bowl and sauce. I was like you could not blame what I didn’t say on me, and I thought we already resolved it, so do you want me to apologise or express my gratitude now??? She tried to argue more but ended up giving me the bowl and sauce, but I wasn’t in the mood to eat any more.

Very rude service, not sure who’s the customer. Not recommended. Worst...

Disappointed, slow service, rude and confrontational server. Lack of customer service. If you come first, expect that you will be serve last. Meaning, the ā€œfirst come first serveā€ basis does not apply in this place. Your lucky if the server assigned to you appreciate your presence. In our case, it appears it’s not. We was served with rudeness and often got ignored. But the table next to us was serve graciously, on time, well attended even we came 15 minutes earlier than them by the same server that was assigned to us. We don’t complain, we patiently and quietly wait for our orders to come even we tried to call the servers attention many times. But here’s the bonus from this self righteous server, at the end after paying our bill, I received a very offensive remarks from him and we don’t even know where is that come from. He literally embarrassed me in front of my husband and other customer when I ask about our to-go orders. I’m like seriously dude what did I do to you to say that nasty offensive...

Um my first time here it was two of my children and myself. One whom of which loves Japanese culture a lot! Their food he wasn't ready for though! Lol! Ultimately he dis enjoy his ramen a lot as did I. It's really good. They're nice enough...and it's all authentic as I believe it to be.

This place will satisfy your ramen craving, but it won't blow your mind. We started with the tempura shumai. They serve six battered and deep fried shumai, three on each skewer. The tempura was crispy, but the shumai didn't have much shrimp flavor, just a lot of doughy chewiness. Still, it comes with a spicy sauce that's umami-rich and easily soaked up by the tempura coating. A good starter. The ramen is good enough. The noodles are fresh and tender. The pork belly melts in your mouth. We tried both the signature and the miso ramen, and I think the miso was better. But there was nothing special about either. The place was crowded, but that adds an energetic ambience. One issue: they clearly do a lot of Uber eats takeout, you see tons of to-go food heading out the door, and the drivers hold the door open, so it was drafty and cold on a very chilly night when we were trying to warm up with hot broth. Overall, it was a good, filling meal at a fair price. I'd go back.
