The dining experience had its ups and downs. The food was good, but unfortunately, the service left much to be desired and raised some concerning questions.

First and foremost, I want to clarify that I'm not making any direct accusations of racism against the staff, but their behavior did make me ponder the possibility. Specifically, I couldn't help but wonder why the staff felt it necessary to block the exit after I requested the check. It was clear that the layout of the tables had been strategically arranged to prevent anyone from leaving without paying. Their approach was rather clever, with two staff members stationed near the exit. Interestingly, they quickly dispersed once I placed my card on the table. I intentionally waited to put down my card to confirm my suspicion that they would move as soon as I did. Sure enough, within seconds of placing my card down, it was retrieved by a staff member from behind me, and the two men left. It felt like I was under constant surveillance throughout my meal.

It's evident that this restaurant may have had past experiences with dine-and-dash incidents, but what I'm left wondering is why I seemed to trigger their defensive response. Was it my age, the way I was dressed, or even my ethnicity? These unanswered questions leave a lingering sense of discomfort.

On a separate note, it's worth mentioning that every time I dine at a restaurant, I seem to be directed to seats with some sort of defect. This visit was no exception, as one of the chairs had a tear in the seating. It's curious why I consistently end up in seats that are less than optimal.

In the future, I would suggest that the restaurant take a more subtle approach to address potential dine-and-dash situations, as their actions were quite conspicuous. A little more trust in their patrons could go a long way in creating a more pleasant dining experience...

I've been to some other Indian buffets before, but this was definitely the best. The buffet contains around a dozen entree items, and each isn't overly stocked. By that I mean you won't find a trough of chicken curry that gets old before anyone has eaten half of it. This means that the food is fresh and of a higher quality. It is frequently restocked when it runs low. There are employees constantly walking by and making sure everything is going well.

Two things I saw that I really appreciated: Curry dishes can collect a lot of oil that, if you eat it, can make you feel not too great. This just happens as it settles, and is difficult to avoid. I saw an employee go and skim off the excess oil from the chicken curry rather than just let it sit and collect. The other thing was that when an employee went to restock the naan, there was a piece that had been sitting from the last restocking and hadn't been eaten. Instead of just piling the fresh naan on top, he took it out so that all of the naan was fresh. It's a small touch, but shows good attention to detail and better care for the quality of the food.

Overall the experience was great and I don't have any complaints. The food was varied and delicious and not too expensive for all you can eat. I'll...

My new Favorite go to spot for delicious Indian Food, including a fabulous buffet available at lunch and dinner. The buffet is absolutely perfect with gluten free and vegan options also, and all items are marked as such. Cold salad bar with fresh fruit and desserts and even hot chai tea.. The buffet is a great way to try different Indian dishes if you have never had it, or love it and want a bit of everything.. Their full menu is also always available. Their drink prices are Awesome with 3.00 wines, shots and beers & 2.00 Yuengling bottles. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly with exceptional customer service. Same amazing service Everytime-- days, nights, weekends. Great for fun with friends, meeting someone for a business lunch or just to chat, and even makes an impressive date night on a budget. Their huge vegetarian samosas are amazing and all the buffet food is spiced just right for anyone to try. If you have missed this University City gem please give it a try...You'll definitely go back for more... Also very clean establishment with beautiful...

I had the pleasure of dining at New Delhi Indian Restaurant last week and I was blown away by the food, the service and the atmosphere. The restaurant is located in a beautiful old building in the heart of Philadelphia and the interior is decorated in traditional Indian style. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is absolutely delicious. I started with the samosas, which were crispy on the outside and perfectly spiced on the inside. For my main course, I had the special chicken curry which was made with fresh tender chicken in a rich and flavorful sauce. I also had the garlic naan which was perfectly cooked and had a great flavor. To finish off my meal, I had the mango lassi which was refreshing and delicious. I would highly recommend New Delhi Indian Restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Indian meal. The food is top-notch the service is excellent and the atmosphere is beautiful. I can't wait to go back again soon! And last but not the list The Tea was just awesome…

This Indian buffet may be the best in the immediate area, but it doesn’t measure up to other options around Philly and the suburbs. The spread offers ingredients to make a decent salad and plenty of overall variety for vegetarians. However, the proteins, specifically chicken, lamb meatballs, and goat, weren’t quite the quality we’ve come to expect from other favorites in the area. Also, the size of the buffet is small. This means popular items frequently run low. Aside from the food, they do have a well-priced alcohol menu. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a diner with plenty of tile and a few flat screen tv’s, and the staff quickly cleared the plates. If you’re craving Indian and have to stick to this specific area it’s worth a visit. However, a 20 minute ride will present many superior options.
