Two Robbers was the highly anticipated third date, with the artist that sparked my own creativity. This was big- it’s the date that confirms there’s connection and takes things out of the bar scene… to the bedroom, or at least a second location.
And while the smash style burger was good- it left a lot of imagination and a yearning for more substance. Metaphor? Perhaps. The delivery was creative- arriving on a metal cafeteria style tray, cut in half as requested, with the most delicious fries and a spicy dipping sauce. Kinda like the delivery of the dreaded “I’m just not ready” convo, over a bucket of seltzer cans. Not ready? For this? (Draws hands up and down body as I’m spicy myself no sauce needed). The cheese to meat to bun ratio was ok, I’d prefer a nicer bun but given the locale and prices it would have been too much. Even the most thinly sliced raw onions were a nice touch. I should have enjoyed them more and not picked some off since there wasn’t a full blown make-out session on the agenda.
And while the convo should have been uncomfortable- like the ridiculous metal low back barstools we sat on, it wasn’t. It was genuine, it was honest, there were laughs, there’s no animosity. Is this what healthy dating and maturity is?!? Sometimes timing just doesn’t work. Sometimes a man turning 41 wants to wait and see what else is out there. Sometimes I can be a lot. Sometimes a third date 1/2 burger is where things end.
Speaking of ending: walking to my car with the most sweet and extra-carbonated fountain Coke to go, with a bendy purple straw made sense. The perfect ending to a nice rejection, because how much more childish could one night/man/date be?
Would I date it? No. Would I go back for the...

Read moreI want to first start off with the positive, the vibes of the place are great, the decor, lighting is nice; the staff are very nice as well. Also the outside seating area was great was definitely bustling even on a Wednesday afternoon. I will also compliment the drinks as even their canned vodka sodas were good so I could only imagine their actual drinks the staff would make, and prices were reasonable as well.
Now I will say I do not quite understand the overwhelming positive reviews on the food, specifically the burgers. I myself enjoy a more diverse range of food, however my family basically strictly eats American and oftentimes gets burgers at a restaurant if it’s available. So trust me they know a good burger when they have one. All of us at the table thought of the burger as just fine, it was juicy, not dry, but really lacked any flavor or any real component. It tasted like a burger you could make from those premade frozen patties and just smashed down, it definitely was something you could make at home. I’d say this place is definitely more drink focused and I feel like it’s somewhere between restaurant and bar. Not quite one...
