LOOK AT YOUR RECEIPT BEFORE YOU PAY. Been coming to this place for the last year or so. Their food is awesome. Service is great when they are not busy but sucks when they are busy especially on weekends. Yesterday went out with family of 3. As soon as we walked in the door the service was already bad. Waited by the door for 5 mins, no one acknowledge us so we walked in to the cash register. A tall guy was walking out with food and we asked him if we could sit anywhere he said yes. So, we got ourselves situated only to be asked after 5 mins of sitting down if we had reservation and when we said no he said we would have to move our seats. Then we ordered our food took about 20-25 mins for the main entree to come out. Again, food was awesome like always. Then when the bill came we told the waitress an older woman that one of the food never came out. She then removed it. Then something told me to look at the receipt again and there was another item that was added that 1. We never ordered and 2. even if we did order it (but again we didnāt) it never came out. The part that got me and my husband upset is that she keeps insisting the last item was brought out to us. I told them that the only thing we had was bread, 2 salad, 4 chicken kabobs and Pierogi. Then she proceeded to ask another waiter if the other entree was brought out. First of we the customer are the ones telling you what we got and actually ate. Second she started telling my husband to calm down. Instead of rectifying the situation and just apologizing and removing the item she made a big deal about them bringing it out. My husband then just told her remove the item and we are NEVER EVER coming back here. All she said was okay. Then on top of that besides them charging the bill and adding 8% tax they also charge an extra 10% on āserviceā. When we ask what is that? Tip? They said no just service. So, whatās the meaning of it. She canāt explain. All in all this is bad business. Adding items to peopleās bill because we canāt really read what they write and then the unprofessional staff and charging customers extra 10% without letting them know. Never ever going back to this place again. One more thing looking at the comments below. Looks like the owner only have automatic responses to people whoās giving them 5 star rating and ignoring the bad ones and itās the same response for everyone. Also, I notice that customer whoās been getting charge extra stuff on their bills and whoās been given bad service are not of their race. Just saying... coincidence?...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat a great experience! We tried to get parking downtown Philly, but gave up, and drove the 20 minutes back to this place. We pulled into their driveway, lined by grapes, and proceeded into the large parking. The length of driveway, size of parking lot, and size of building all surprised us. Based on the stripmalls around us, that's what we had assumed when we were looking for the restaurant. The parking lot even had nice landscaping! We walked into the outdoor sitting area, decided that it was too noisy from the traffic, and proceeded inside. The cool air, white linens, dim lighting was all such a relief from the 90 degree day and blistering sun. We were met by a friendly waitress that was attentive and responsive the entire time. We were seated, and ordered the first couple dishes while deciding on the rest. We were asked if we wanted the bread, and answered yes. Expecting a bread basket we were pleasantly surprised to find a full loaf placed on our table. Next to it was a tomato garlic sauce, that was addicting and a lovely pourable sourcream reminding me of crĆØme freche. Then came the katub and cheburek. Both were tasty, with me favoring the cheburek and wife favoring the katub. Then came the Hanum, which was delicious! We both enjoyed that one. Then came the Salyanka and Vareniki with cheese. Those were also delicious, and we went past the full point, proceeding to eat until no more fit, and then a bit more. The entire time, we were tearing pieces of the bread off, and dipping it into the tomato sauce or soup. And the bill came to less than $40 with tax and tip! This is a restaurant we're visiting any time we're...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I had the pleasure of being treated to Uzbekistan's "Romantic Valentine's Dinner For Two" that we won via their Instagram giveaway.Ā We were so excited for whatever plans theĀ restaurantĀ had to offer....but we had no idea the special night that awaited us.
Awaiting us at our table was a gorgeous array of flowers (courtesyĀ of Kukka Blumeology), candle decorations, and balloons.Ā We were overwhelmed that Arthur and his amazing staff would put so much care and effort into making even the TABLE for our Valentines meal look so spectacular.
We ordered some of our favorites from the vast and encompassingĀ menu Uzbekistan has to offer, but Arthur himself came to the table to hand select even more delicious dishes!Ā From the Mermaid Salad to the Stuffed Cabbage to all of the lamb dishes we had....each one they brought out topped the last!Ā When it came time for dessert, we could barely finish our fantasticĀ baklava.Ā It was a magical evening & one that we will never forget.Ā BUT, almost as amazing was how tasty the food was the next day!Ā Arthur himself boasted his food was so good you didn't even need to heat up the leftovers.Ā My husband ate pretty much everything we took home directly in front of the refrigerator with the door wide open. ArthurĀ wasn't lying.
We cannot WAIT to come back and enjoy this total experience of a restaurant.Ā Even without the flowers, the candles, and the balloons...Uzbekistan is a place you'll...
