To be honest stopping at this restaurant was a second choice we were on our way in town to the Marvel exhibit at Franklin Institute and had this as a date night with our dinner destination to be South Street Souvlaki along favorite and standard for our families. Right in the door we were seated at a table that was not prepared with utensils and cups and glasses even though the rest of the restaurant was. Our server was a guy and had a real indifference to being a server, polite enough but he had to be flagged down and was not very informative about the menu. The menu itself all the right names of Greek food we each had a item from the menu my wife a spanakopita and myself the yellowfin tuna blackened. Neither dish was prepared well. Her spanakopita was a big air filled puff pastry moderate amount of spinach very little if any feta cheese and it was Bland. My yellowfin tuna was a mound of indiscriminate stuff. The tuna itself was cooked fairly well but the sauce the dressing that came with it was glommed on and poured over the entire server and it was so strong that it overwhelmed the flavor of the tuna. Given the cost of the items the reluctance of the facility to make amends for the product the quality of the product and the overall experience this is not a facility that we will return to or care to recommend to any of our friends are family. Aside from this review we're not seeking to extend the negativity about the facility and hope that if it's red it will inform those to ask more questions and possibly have the facility itself amended style of cooking and attention...
Read moreStopped by for a Greek experience and we will never go back again. The Tadama (Greek Caviar) was thick, full of potato, a $17 crazy price for nasty Tadama! It was not even close to what it’s suppose to taste like! Although, I rated the atmosphere a 5, I am more about the authentic quality of Greek food. Let’s be clear, I have no problem spending money for a high quality experience! I am married to a Greek man who’s mother owned a restaurant, which was the closest to eating in Greece 🇬🇷, and the fact that my husband and I also make Greek food, but we wanted to venture out to dine. We are on the search for a high quality authentic Greek restaurant here in the tri state area. The best one that we found thus far, was Greek Brothers Taverna Dresher, Pa. BYOB. Give it a try, but I wouldn’t recommend the Greek style fries! Oh and to the one gentleman below Rob Crowley. Your review below were inaccurate, in regards, to your Greek experience. Just because you went to a low grade establishment who claim to serve Authentic Greek food, you haven’t truly experienced the real DEAL of Greek food and until you do, don’t judge all Greek food. Be more open minded to the fact that not every Greek restaurant serves high end as if you were in Greece! Even some Greeks themselves can’t even cook high quality. That’s why my husband and I are on a search for the best of the best!

Read moreA Fantastic First Experience at Zesty’s in Manayunk!
We had an incredible first meal at Zesty’s on a Sunday afternoon, just before the crowds rolled in. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and we were lucky to meet Chef Tom, who personally stopped by to chat and share the fascinating history of the restaurant. His passion for Greek cuisine truly shines through in every dish.
We indulged in a variety of traditional Greek dishes, and each one was absolutely delicious: • Greek Spreads – A delightful selection of taramosalata (caviar mousse), tzatziki (cucumber, yogurt, and garlic), and skordalia (garlic potato dip), all served with fresh pita. • Grilled Octopus – Perfectly cooked and flavored with olive oil, fennel, peppers, lemon, and oregano. • Chilean Sea Bass – Broiled to perfection with garlic, olive oil, wine, capers, and tomatoes, accompanied by potatoes and vegetables. • Shrimp Glyfada – Extra jumbo shrimp sautéed with olive oil, garlic, shallots, Ouzo, Greek olives, feta cheese, and tomatoes—a flavorful standout! • Moussaka – A classic dish featuring layers of sautéed eggplant, cheeses, ground beef, and zucchini, baked in a rich béchamel sauce.
We ended our meal on a sweet note with handmade baklava, which was the perfect balance of flaky, nutty, and honey-sweet goodness.
Highly recommend Zesty’s for anyone craving authentic Greek cuisine in a welcoming setting. Can’t...
