The Human Bean — Restaurant in Philomath

Super nice people as always. Haven’t been to this location in a hot minute but other than my order being wrong and it being the sweetest most undrinkable coffee I’ve had in years here (I asked for a quarter sweet - less than half scoop of the flavor like I always do)… everything else was good.

I’m sure if I weren’t a few blocks away when I tried my drink and threw it away that they would have remade it for me (if I were still there at the drive-thru). I’ve been ordering the same thing for so long, I just don’t assume I need to try it before driving away… but after spending money on a coffee - plus tip - only to throw it away well… lesson learned.

Mistakes happen and people get overwhelmed when things are busy, but I mention this because I repeated the order twice to make sure they got it AND was the only customer there at the time I stopped by.

I worked for the owner of the stand in Philomath, OR, the 2 stands in Albany, OR and the stand in Lebanon, OR from December 25th 2022 to March 23rd 2023. In that time I was met with nothing but unprofessional and immature management. I put in my 2 week notice of resignation on Wednesday March 22nd as I had found a better job. The owner/management made the decision to cancel my remaining shifts cause me to lose any sort of income I would have gotten from tips in that time. I may not have enough to cover my bills after my final check comes in because they cancelled the remaining shifts I was scheduled for. These people have no issue causing their employees financial distress. And that tells me, and hopefully anyone reading this just how bad their management is, and that they don’t deserve the support they have gotten. I know for a fact the owner is going to hate this statement and will delete it, but I am hoping that at least some people...

So I've gotten the same drink ever since I've been going to Human Bean. Today when I ordered a sugar free energy drink with peach and pomegranate flavoring, I was handed a pale yellow drink. Having ordered this so many times it was clear to me it was not flavored, yet the guy at the counter insisted it was. Begrudgingly the guy said he would put in some more pomegranate. He put one spoonful in, which turned the drink bright pink, and handed it back saying it would be right now. It still wasn't because that was only one of the two flavors I asked for, but it didn't seem like I was going to get what I asked for without a lot of push back so I just gave up. Kind of disappointing because that is one of my favorite drinks, but if that's the service I can expect then I don't think it...
