Bikini Lounge — Restaurant in Phoenix

This happened 3 years ago. We went there twice, the first time was great, we had fun, the place wasn't packed but it was alright. We had a hard time finding a parking spot and the area is not safe either, so be careful where you park your vehicle. We went inside and bought tequila shots and other drinks, as soon as we got there the DJ started to play latin music which immediately got everyone dancing, after we danced we talked to the DJ for a while before we left and asked him if he usually plays cumbias there, he said that he did before but the owner didn't like it, he sounded as if the owner doesn't like latin music, and that is why the owner asked the him not to play too much of it. That was the first time we went there as group.

No long after the first visit we went a second time but my I.D. was expired so the security didn't let me in, I didn't know my I.D. was expired even when we went there the first time it was already expired and yet they let me in, so I didn't understand why they wouldn't let me in this time. The security asked me who let me in the first time, and I said he did, he rolled his eyes and said no, it wasn't me I wouldn't allowed you to go in if your I.D. was expired, at the end he went inside to ask someone else if they've seen me before, he came out and said no, I've never seen you here before so I won't let you in. To me the security was being an @$s so we never went back to this horrible...

The concept seems so perfect but I have never been in such a disgusting and awful environment.

Our night started off fine with one of our friends getting a drink and the rest of us (3 people) having just some water. We didn’t seem it was just quite the time to drink yet as we had just ate a large meal and wanted that to settle.

This awful man comes from the bar and decides to harass us and ask if we’re gonna be drinking. We were but said no as it wasn’t gonna happen soon. He proceeds to tell us we have to “split” cause all of us needed to drink to be there… I cannot tell you how upset this made me. What if one of us had heart problems and was still trying to hang with friends. Not to mention one of us is a recovering alcoholic. Awful business with very rancid and disgusting floors and...

Eclectic and funky is my description of this bar I didn't do a complete walkthrough, so I can't comment honestly on the overall experience. Most times, a bathroom check for cleanliness and user friendliness is a Dealmaker/breaker for me. I had a Midori based drink, first time in forever, and it was okay. My date thought the bartender was rude, but I felt like he was effective. The jukebox was adequate along with the sound quality. There weren't many people there, so the true feel for the place wasn't established. You'll have to visit (which I encourage!) and judge for yourself... I'll go back earlier in the evening. Of course, Covid may be a factor in the clientele worth...
