I absolutely had the best time here! The food is delicious!! The service is friendly and very fast. They have a small, yet delightful bar. Their wells are not well bottles at all.. in fact Jimador is their “well” tequila.. only $6!! The drinks are very unique and tasty!! If you’ve never heard of Sotol, I suggest you ask. The worst thing you could do is just avoid it because you’re not familiar with this type of alcohol. With that being said, they do have amazing local drafts, but you want to enjoy a specialty drink here!! Sotol is an amazing drink; on the rocks, neat or in a mixed drink.. it’s not as popular as a tequila or a mezcal, but it’s worth learning about, because you will definitely remember it after you try it!! The flavors are rich and you will walk out a happy patron once you’ve given it a shot!! I came for a fundraiser event they graciously held and sponsored for an amazing cause.. so that already spoke volumes to me about the type of people who owned this restaurant! Well I had the pleasure of meeting 2 of the owners and they are amazing. So humble.. so much fun.. so passionate about their restaurant and ready to teach everyone about their amazing bar!! I can’t wait to come back and try all the plates and drinks they offer!! Absolutely a gem in the middle of Grand Avenue!!

Food, art, culture, community, connection... Authentic and delicious Chihuahua state style burritos, gorditas, and bowls; plus delicious aguas frescas, Mexican sodas in glass bottle, and bar featuring local beers and sotol drinks (made from the plant only found in Chihuahua, New Mexico, & Texas)! Definitely soul food...Mama’s cooking and always fresh; very reasonable prices. Beautiful, artistic environment, with artesania for purchase, made by Chihuahua artists. The best Mexican and pan-Latino folk, reggae, pop, oldies, rock music playing all day. Social, cultural, and art impact focus; and they make sure to honor the diverse cultures of Chihuahua...indigenous tribes, vaqueros, Mennonites, etc. Just what Phoenix metro was missing! Located in the heart of the Grand Ave. art district with lots of cool local shops, galleries, and cafes to peruse. Plus the staff are very friendly to everyone of all backgrounds. Every time I come I see different people...locals from the neighborhood, business people, everyday workers, college students, tourists, kids, artists, all ages, all walks of life. Plus if you’re vegan like me, half the menu is vegan and offers delicious options you haven’t had for years or ever...my favorites...chile colorado and picadillo! Thank you, Testal, for bringing this wonderful place to the Valle del Sol! Can you tell I ❤️ you?! 💛🌯🌯🌯🌯🌯💛

This weekend was my third weekend coming to Testal for breakfast and I walked out with nothing in hand, mind you all visits were a months apart.

The restaurant opens at 9 and claim to serve breakfast from 9am to 11am. It seems like the establishment both opens and preps at 9am, because I have asked for breakfast items and they either “don’t have any” or “it’s not ready” I have been told this by the young lady who seems like standing in the register and taking an order is taking a toll on her, I almost felt like starting a “go fund me” so she gets some proper training in customer service. Her expression and demeanor are as brilliant as watching paint dry.

I’ve been to other restaurants and establishments and a wait time for food is customary and I don’t mind waiting, but to flat out say “you don’t have any” irks me, I come in at 9:15 and you don’t have any food? Why even have breakfast burritos on the menu?

Focus on prep time and having employees come in early to prepare the food, instead of focusing on some hipster burrito kitchen for the Instagram baddies. I won’t be coming back, there are other places in town that can subside because of the great service, food, and don’t rely on...

[backstory] Originally from WI, lived in AZ for a few years and moved back to WI… In AZ this weekend for my husbands family gathering and I had literally no idea what’s new and popular these days. It’s been awhile.

I hit up a friend (a local) and this was the recommended spot. He said if you are vegan, this is a must. My husband is not vegan, so I was not sure if he would enjoy it.

We met up with our friend and my immediate impression of this place was chill vibes, laid back atmosphere and authentic food. Yes, yes and yes!!!

The menu won me over. Not one, but several vegan options. Non-vegan options for my husband. I ordered the vegan relleno burrito. AMAZING!!! Perfection. Highly recommend. I do not recall what my husband ordered or what our friend ordered but the food looked incredible.

I forgot to mention that we arrived to karaoke night. We were greeted by the individual managing karaoke…handing over microphones to us. So much positive energy in the air at this place. LOVE IT! On my next visit,...
