While biking around grand ave I decided to stop by for a coffee at this trendy brutalist themed coffee shop that I had seen countless times on Instagram. The barista was very kind and helped me decide what to get. I decided on a lumio. It is a tad on the sweeter side, and on the lighter side. They’ve got lots of art for sale; this dumpster candle caught my eye. The decor feels a bit too try hard for my liking. Read moreMy first time here was not great. The atmosphere is alright, pastries are good but it took 45-50 minutes for a latte to be made. I was patient and chopped it up with the assumption that the Barista was probably new. A few weeks later (today) I decided to go back and give it another go, 40 min… again, I cannot justify their coffee to be good enough to ever wait this long, nor was there a line when I walked in. However, we never had the chance to be served because we didn’t get through the line of one person. I’m all about taking time to connect with each customer, but after 5+ minutes of not being acknowledged at all, we grew tired of standing by while the cashier had an intimate conversation with the young woman ahead of us.
