The West Valley certainly has its share of bad donut spots, and Blooming Donuts is no exception. Based on the average rating, maybe I was here on an “off day,” but disappointing is the only word that even comes close to describing my experience.
The staff were great and the restaurant was clean; there was also a large selection of donuts. All positive attributes. Unfortunately, the donuts themselves were underwhelming and in some instances, just bad. I tried a half dozen different donuts, from specialty to standard, and the donut holes. Everything tasted like it had been fried in week-old oil. The donut holes were so greasy and heavy they left a film on your tongue and teeth, and the oil on apple fritter was literally soaking through the bag they put it in. The morning I visited, they were also offering a specialty Oreo donut. Not only did they use knockoff brand Oreos instead of the real thing (c’mon, you can’t charge that much for a single donut and use cheap imitation ingredients), the Oreos themselves were so stale, they had the texture of styrofoam. The only donut that even halfway met expectations was the maple-bacon. The flavor was spot on, though it was still extremely greasy, and some pieces of the bacon were so firm, it actually hurt to bite down on them the wrong way.
I did not try the boba, coffee, or other food selections, so I can’t comment on those.
Maybe my expectations were too high based on the other reviews, or maybe the selection of good donuts in the West Valley is so bad, Blooming Donuts is actually considered good here. Either way, I can’t recommend them, and I...
Read moreMy first time going was the worst experience I have ever had. I ordered a what I thought was a "smoothie" tasted like ice- cream. It was way too sweet that I ended up going back and asking if I can replace the "smoothie" for something else. They looked at me weird as if there was nothing that they could do. So, I replaced my drink for a turkey, egg, & cheese sandwich on a croissant. Smh lol that croissant sandwich not appetizing. First of all the croissant itself was hard and stale with butter slapped on top of it. What kind of sandwich is that to give to a customer. So, I went back and ask for a refund. They said no because they replaced my drink for a sandwich which apparently I should have been charged for. Then have the nerve to tell me that the sandwich was toasted. No it wasn't. It looked like they put everything together, slapped some melted butter on the bread and placed it in the microwave. I explained to them what toasted bread looks like. From there, they told me that there customers like their sandwiches and it's always "toasted" and they never complain about it. I guess I will have to stop by early in the morning, so that I can actually get a toasted breakfast sandwich from someone who knows how to make correctly. I left like whatever dude. I learned my lesson to never go to a donut place...
Read moreThe BEST donuts I'll ever have, it's honestly baffling how they manage to keep making these donuts consistently amazing.
There is a Krispy Kreme 5 mins from my house but I'll take the extra 15 min commute to go here instead, not only are they great, its extremely cheap for their quality, I feel like I should be paying much more for these high quality bundles of joy.
Not only do they taste great, they're huge, like, really big. I feel like I could easily get addicted to their donuts.
And to top it off they have Wonderful amd friendly staff who are always super kind and they always throw in some extra donut balls for you no matter how big or small your order is.
Please if you've considered going here, Don't hesitate, go!
Anyone else I highly recommend switching your morning routine to include these guys, it's something you...
