This place is amazing. You walk in and it smells so good. Smells like...marinating birria meat mixed with a fried taco scent. ๐ฎ
So far I've been here twice. First time I picked up the rolled tacos and then went right next door to Blooming Donuts and picked up a couple donuts. It was a sweet and taco-y brunch at home. It was a perfect every once and a while brunch treat to do.
The second time I picked up the rolled tacos again because I enjoyed them so much and also a Tacos Dorados de Birria (with no onions for me). I didn't get a picture of it because I ate it right away - but it was absolutely delicious. The birria had an amazing flavor and the orange looking taco shell was crunchy and tasty. It came with a side of items to put on it to adjust your spice level.
I absolutely would get it again. This location is becoming a weekly treat to eat here. If you enjoy tacos, give them a try! You can tailor your spice level at the table. Nothing comes out too spicy (unless you order it that way from the menu) - for me, I have trouble with spicy food so it's better for me to be able to adjust it to what I can handle. Mild or thereabouts so I especially appreciate getting to adjust it.
The experience is great and the food is excellent. Definitely please go here to support this excellent place...
ย ย ย Read moreThank you for reading the Honest Reviews4u!!! If you looking to eat something new and exciting. This place will surely make you come back for more. The food is amazing delicious. The Carne Asada burrito with rice beans and Pico de Gallo tastes fantastic and will surely full you up. As a 6'2 Mexican American I was very full after eating 1. The tortilla is perfect as they look and tastes like freshly handmade tortilla. I also have tried the AL Pastor burrito with rice beans and Pico de Gallo with some green salsa and hint of lemon it was a perfect meal ๐. Very big and sure to full you up. The best part is that I did not feel heavy after eating them. I also recommend eating some tacos de Pastor or de Cabeza or de Asada. They tasted great put some cilantro, onion avocado sauce very yummy. (Side note did you know Tortillas and Avocado are NASA food of choice. No wonder European and some of Asian countries referre the tortilla and Avocado as food from the gods). The customer service was very friendly and the location is very clean inside and out. I highly recommend this place!๐ After eating here you consider visiting the local stores, coffee/tea shops, parks or Tres Rios Wetlands named top 100 place to visit in Arizona and is located here. Rating: โญโญโญ
I recently dined at Calitacos Restaurant and wanted to share my thoughts on the experience. While there were a few positive aspects, overall, it left me feeling somewhat underwhelmed.
The birria taco I ordered was just okay in terms of taste. It lacked the depth and flavor that I had anticipated. It didn't quite live up to the hype surrounding this dish, leaving me somewhat disappointed.
Another aspect that bothered me was the lack of inclusion of dipping sauce with the tacos. It was disheartening to discover that the sauce had to be purchased separately. I believe that a taco of this nature should come with the necessary accompaniments to enhance the overall dining experience .
Despite these shortcomings, The ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant, with a comfortable and inviting atmosphere.
In conclusion, while my visit to Calitacos Restaurant was not extraordinary, it was not entirely negative either. The birria taco left something to be desired in terms of taste, and the additional cost for the dipping sauce felt unnecessary. If you're looking for an average taco experience, Calitacos might be worth a visit, but don't expect anything...
