Writing this really makes me sad, to know that discrimination is still live and well in AZ hurts. I really dont know if its because I am Gay and or Black or BOTH. But anyway last night i went with 3 friends to enjoy Karaoke and what they called the best Karaoke spot around! We come in, I grab is a table, we hit the bar. My 2 friends are in front of me ordering as I wait behind another guy ordering. Both parties get their drinks and go, I rightfully stepped up and grabbed the next seat. Watched the bartender make about 8 different shots for other guests I presume, and knew when she was done it would be my turn, but after those shots she disappeared from the bar. (Blonde Lady) About 2 minutes passed, im still waiting patiently, an older couple walks in and asks if they can sit i say yes. They say Hi and start to say can i get a ā¦ā¦..To a younglady behind the bar washing dishes (burgundy hair), who I assumed was a bar back. She says i will be right with u. Simultaneously a guy from karaoke walks over with an empty glass tosses it on the counter waits about 30 seconds and the ābarbackā makes him another while she is āwashing dishesā and gives it to him. I watch her wash a few more dishes before she says to the couple what can i get you guys. I said excuse me i was sitting here before them, a for quite a bit.. She starts yelling at me⦠saying āOK WHATEVER THEY SAID SOMETHING TO ME FIRST, AND ANYWAY I HAVE TO WASH DISHES AND IF I DONT WASH DISHES THEN YOU DONT HAVE A GLASS. I repeated, I was just saying I was here for a while waiting first before them.. she said I DONT CARE!, turned to the coulple, and took their order. I went to my friends and they said hey why dont you have your drink yet. Let me go up there with you and get it, i said No thank you I am leaving and refuse to be treated with such disrespect from a YOUNG Lady/Little girl (burgundy hair) who need more training. As I was walking out, I said excuse me what is your name?, she ignored me and went to the other side of the bar to serve someone, so I asked the security guy at the door before I left, and all of this was done by Dickey. I will not be returning, and hope that management can rectify this sooner...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet me begin and end with your security Corbin. My first night there he almost didnt let me in because my ID was bent trying ro say thats what cops do when you have too many DUIs which im sorry is not true, my dad was a cop for 25 years. Besides I could have 5 DUIs just means I cant drive but can still drink. I have not only heard but seen this security guard intimidate people and act tough over nothing but once he pulled a gun on a patron over nothing! No excuse, I do not feel safe there knowing he is carrying a gun, not allowed in the bar and he is not armed security guard. I work in security and im sorry but that is a law suit waiting to happen, then met two others who went there and stopped because of him intimidating them and acting like he can do whatever he wants. He is the problem. This place is looking at some big issues down the road.
update So to clarify, I never said their security he was physically carrying a gun while by the door, he kept it in his car and pulled it on a patron while in his car. I could care less if this bar beleives it or not. Him having that in his car that he parks up front in a handicapped spot (which is wrong as well) is a problem waiting to happen or should I say get worse. But hey let him keep it where its ACCESSIBLE and wait for that one person to cause a big enough issue. If he pulls that gun out AGAIN but next time on a patron stirring the pot and uses it to intimidate will definitely cause a huge problem. As long as his gun is in his car ill make sure people know and not go there. Not my bar...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI used to be a regular here and loved visiting when lissie worked there. Today I had an experience like no other. I canāt even begin to address the mistreatment from the moment my friend and I sat down till we cashed out. I remained calm and pleasant throughout it and I will say the bartender did end up being nice before we left, but by the end of our visit, I guess there was a miscommunication if her card was ran or not. Simple enough I walked out, grabbed her card and the tab was paid. She was still frustrated about the mistreatment from when we first got there, so I donāt know what was said, but a regular sitting on the corner of the bar and a yellow shirt decided to approach my friend aggressively. She responded to protect herself. The tab was paid and He was still arguing with her after he had already pushed her out of the bar, broke her finger, busted her knee, and we ended up in the hospital all because this regular. The bartender told me she was calling the police and the owner and I said I was taking my friend to the hospital. At the hospital, I called to ask the bartender Nikki whom can I put as the other party she refuse to give me the information and now my friend has to have reconstructive surgery on her finger because this man was allowed to put hands on her over a simple miscommunication. The bartender even apologized for being rude to begin with when we first arrived but now are we even safe to go have a lunch and share a beer anymore with our friends. So apparently itās up to the owner to contact us and let us know...
