Right off the bat, I have to tell you I am picky about my mexican food. I was raised by my Mexican grandma that was a culinary specialist in all things flavorful and still balanced with spice. The flour tortillas had me reminiscing about Sunday mornings at my grandma's house with butter and a pinch of salt ready for them right off the place. That put them ahead to 4 stars, the menudo rojo was tasty and just on the spicy side. Very similar to the menudo you find in El Paso. Good just not above average but menudo is an acquired taste for most and a must for those recovering from a night of partying right prior. The chorizo and egg breakfast plate was very good. Their beans are tasty but not overpowering. The chorizo was good, again a bit to heavy on the spice and not bursting with flavor but good. The service is above adequate for a place that just stays busy! But they were happy, masked up and very clean. I recommend for the overall experience. The music is puro raza norteno with a dash of Tejano here and there and some classics which felt like your mom's house at breakfast and isn't that what we all want.. a taste of home both in food and comfort. Gracias por todo...

Great little local Mex Resto. Although not great, it’s not bad either. It fills the local need and desires for Mexican Cuisine within the local South Mountain community! Although primarily a Mexican-style breakfast and lunch joint, it’s open late enough to catch a homey-feel early dinner! Don’t let the strip mall environment get to you, it’s really worth the visit. This resto has been around for a long, long time, and it’s no wonder, it’s very, very good – it beats Filiberto’s, Eriberto’s, Federico’s… and least of all Taco Bells or Del Tacos, or any fast-food Mex Resto that you can think of, hands down. It’s homemade! From their Mexican breakfast specialties like Green or Red Chile, Chorizo (homemade) con Huevos, Machaca con Huevos, Steak Ranchero or to lunch or dinner goodies like Red and Green Chile Pork, Carnitas, Pollo Asado, or Flautas, they’re magnificent in comparison – and the prices are incredibly reasonable too! Your not only in and out in a buzz, but you get really, really good real stuff. Thank you for being in our neighborhood El Mesquite, we’re glad you...

I went here because of the ratings and I was waiting for an event in the area. First off, customer service was 'meh' not very welcoming or inviting, however I was seated immediately and drinks served timely, I ordered chicken chimichanga and posole with horchata to drink. I only finished the horchata, everything else was only eaten like 1/3. I was disappointed. My beans were very light in color so I'm guessing it wasn't pinto. I like pinto or black beans. My rice was minimally seasoned, no flavor. I love flavor. I requested green chili on my chimi and there was just a small amt of green chili sauce and it was absorbed by the chimi. The posole I was so looking forward to, it was beans, not hominy, I've never had posole with beans instead of hominy. The tortillas would have been good if it was warm. But it was hard n cold. I love Mexican food but I was disappointed. ☹☹☹ I'm not Hispanic so maybe this is normal. Idk. I will not be coming back here. Oh. I was charged for every individual single thing. 30.00 for one, it didnt...

I was looking forward to trying this place since our Los Dos Molinos was closed on Sunday. We got served chips and salsa. Salsa was nice and spicy (1 star earned). After waiting 30 mns we finally got our lunch served. Our waitress had been too busy chatting with another table. I had a platter of rice (minute rice,) beans, decent chile rellenos and a disgusting taco (oily, soft soggy in the middle) with some dried up meat inside and cold shredded cheese on top. My hubby had a chicken burro enchilada style. Essentially it was stuffed with dried chicken meat, he could'nt cut with a knife. The enchilada sauce was a very diluted tomato sauce that turned orange. The crowd seemed to order the posole a lot. I guess it is their specialty. We left hungry as it wasnt good and missing Los Dos Molinos even more.
