I generally go to the one in SunnySlope but today I was in South Phoenix for a project. I didn’t want to drive home in traffic so i stopped in to Tortas Paquime around 6pm on a Thursday. This location is clean an beautiful also. The staff is snappy and friendly. I love practicing Spanish while ordering food. I got my usual which is the bean and cheese burrito. The beans were creamy and not too salty. The cheese is not oily and the tortilla is thinner then other places. The aguample and salsa roja at the salsa bar are TDF! I also picked up some conchas for my son on the way out. He loves them. I would recommend this place to anyone and I hope (hint hint) that Tortas Paquime opens a location in SW Mesa by me in the Fiesta District.

I placed an order for delivery, asked for a tostada paquime, torta paquime and Fresca con cream. My order arrived without Fresas con crema, the tostada had no meat in it even though my order said tostada paquime which is the one with meat. I called the central location and they said they don’t offer fresas con crema anymore but can’t update the menu online but they sure did charge me the $10 for them they didn’t hesitate to take the money. So just FYI tortas paquime on central does not offer fresas con crema and apparently the tostada changed as it now does not come with any meat. The staff said they can’t do anything and they know the menu is incorrect online but can’t fix it.

I ordered a cochinita pibil torta and the meat is nothing like what I expected. Very different than what I've experienced in an authentic setting before. Their method of preparation must be quite different than what it traditionally is. It was just shredded pork in achiote mixture. The bread was pretty good though. The salsas they have are very runny and watery but my preferred was the red one. I liked that it had plenty of avocado although it was just huge chunks of it that slid out of my torta lol. Flavor overall was good and the torta was served with chips. I'd go back to try the other torta selection. I've heard their tacos are better than their tortas. We shall see.
