This place is very a assuming. You might think you might get a cut rate sandwich short on meat and flavor. I usually don't go for a cold sub sandwich. I have had bad experiences and been disappointed too many times at chain owned places. This was not my experience at Frank's. You can grab chips and drink while in the line and you'll be surrounded by regulars that have been coming for decades. I was told the meatball is the amazing; but I came to have a good sub. I got The Tony with everything their go on the Italian with very heavy portions of fresh sliced spicy meats. I got a whole sandwich, and finished a whole sandwich. It's a lot of sandwich though and my buddy who joined me held off on his second half "It was too much". Definitely recommend this local hot spot. Even when it got busy like when I buddy showed up he got in quick and food was served to us promptly. I was surprised they could get these sandwiches out so quick. I will be back.

As a recent transplant from New York, finding an authentic deli experience in Phoenix was top of my list. I'm thrilled to say I found it at Franks! From the moment I walked in, the friendly atmosphere and welcoming family owners made me feel right at home. The deli is family-owned, and their dedication to quality and tradition shines through in every bite. The sandwiches here are true to their name—authentic New York style, with generous portions of fresh ingredients that hit all the right notes. What impressed me the most was the speed of service without sacrificing quality. It's clear they take pride in their craft, and it showed in everything we ordered. If you're craving a taste of New York right here in Phoenix, look no further. New York Style Deli is where you'll find it. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates a genuine deli experience.

5+ STARS! If you are looking for authentic NY Style Deli sandwiches here in Phoenix, come to FRANK’S! Founded in 1982 by FRANK (see photo) the establishment is now run by his sons. We happened to dine here on a Saturday and had a brief conversation with his older son Gustavo (pictured with his mom hoisting a HUGE extra long sub with younger brother) who personally made our delicious Pastrami sandwich which came with a pickle spear. We added potato salad which tasted homemade and was very tasty. We also were impressed with the variety of snacks, drinks, and desserts that they sold in their minimart /convenience store type establishment. Free parking onsite. You will be surprised at how easy it is to feel like you just stepped into a traditional family deli in NYC. This is the real deal!

I just moved to downtown Phoenix from NYC nine (9) months ago and have been searching relentlessly for a classic NY style HERO!!!!

Well, I need to search no more (sorry for the bad english, but I mean business...). Frank's Deli is everything! My guy knew how sad I was about not having a taste of home, did his research, and found this place for me.

Upon walking in, it was already authentic in its feel, so I knew I was in the right place. I told the gentleman at the register that if the hero wasn't good, I'm going to lose my 'ish...well, he responded by saying, 'If you don't like it, you don't have to come back." Mind you, he said it in a sarcastic, friendly way, so I embraced the confidence.

Either way, he was right to have that attitude. I ordered a typical turkey and cheese with all the fixins and was soooo HAPPY!

The mayo was flavorful, the bread was a perfect balance of soft and textured, and the meat, cheese, and L&T were fresh and perfectly positioned within the bread.

Do not walk, RUN to this place if you want a delicious hero. You will not be sorry.

My only complaint was that they call the heroes "subs" šŸ˜’. I guess you can't win at everything. I digress...

In closing, this business has been here for almost 40 years, family owned and operated... the grandson assisted me, mom made the hero, and they even shared pictures of the family with me from years passed.

Give these folks a try. It was/is a great find. I can't wait to...

OK, I’ve been told I have the golden touch when I put a review. Let’s hope this happens here, but I’m kind of scared because I really like this place, and I don’t want them getting too big where there’s Services and their food is not gonna take to save, but let me tell you something you guys. I am Jersey Mike type of gal, but save your money and go to the spot. Seriously. It is so freaking delicious. I don’t know if it’s the meat or the sauces that they put on it, but it is absolutely delicious. I don’t know who the heck is Tony, but Tony, they did you, Justice, sweetheart. Cause this sub was delicious, which is the name of the sub that I had.. It was probably one of the best freaking subs I’ve ever had. I did a Doordash here, and I smelled the food and it smells delicious, but the one thing that I noticed the most was that everybody kept walking out, smiling and happy with their freaking food in their hand and I was like oh my God. It smells delicious, but let’s see. I had to come back. I went back to the next day and sure oh my God did not disappoint. Sorry this review so long, but it’s so delicious. Totally recommend the people. There are absolutely phenomenal. They’re such a sweetheart. And the food is...

I visited here earlier this week after I found them on Google when I was looking for a sandwich shop. Small mom and pop place, and the young man at the counter said that his mom was the one making my sandwich. She made me a better sandwich than my own mom :) Anyways, I ordered The Tony (as is) and I LOVED it. Whatever magical mayo and other fixings they put on it made it super good. Usually, I do not like to order a sandwich with that much meat because they are usually way too salty, but the meat they use is not salty or cheap tasting at all. Also, the sandwiches are MASSIVE, especially for the price. One (at least of what I ordered) can easily feed 2 people. Also, their cheesecake and pickles are really good. They do have places to sit and eat, though I was in a hurry and ate in my car. The rest of the store has some snacks and drinks, like a small convenience store. They sell Cactus Cooler, for those of you who are always on the hunt for it :)

I will be going back, and more than likely it...
