Bagels when the order is right are always good. Last week not so good! Went in at 5:45 ordered 3 different bagels and all were so tough you could barely eat them! My 10 year old grandson even had a hard time. Since this was odd I first emailed on the website, two days no response so I called to talk to the manager not in left a message for a call back and two days later no call back so I called and if I got a hold of her. Explained the situation and while doing so was rudely interrupted asking me how often I come there what do I get and this is the first ever call she’s gotten about this? NOT ONCE was I asked what I bought or did she apologize or ask what can I do to make you happy? I also was told she doesn’t return calls because she gets too many from solicitors, I said how do you know what ones are or aren’t unless you call them back? No answer. My initial call was to let them know but after the rude response I now want my money back. So I asked to speak to the owner, they are not available and are at a different location. So i ask for the name and number. I called and asked for Bruce ,the owner, at the number given to me by Bartda but he just left? The accent sounds familiar to me from the previous call? So I ask her name and she said it’s Sue ? I asked not Bartda, no and I don’t know her. I leave my name and number and ask Sue to let him know that it’s not a sales call, just in case! And Sue says I know nothing about that? Two days later no call back so I googled the number and it was from the original location and Sue is really Bartda and the OWNER! Hard to believe an owner would talk to a customer like that and give false information about the owner. She must be real proud to own a business that she can’t even give me the courtesy of admitting she is the owner and that day the bagels were off! I will NEVER go back! Thankfully she has sweet employees other wise who...
Read moreHeading out of home up north I pulled into in-n-out to get a burger and the line was so long it looped around the building so I left planning to eat in Wickenburg instead. As I left the lot I saw the bagel and deli sign so I went in to try it. Torn between a hot pastrami or a egg bagel with lox I decided on the bagel sandwich. It came stuffed with lox, enough onion, and a few capers. The lox is decent but I'm sure packaged, and the bagel was slightly over toasted but I prefer mine not toasted at all. I still enjoyed it and for the price I was surprised how stuffed it was. The cream cheese was a bit thin and runny but ill blame the toasted bagel this time. I would return but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. I was really turned off at the high use of the microwave. They don't even try to hide it. It's not everything but too much. It may be do to the high amount of business their doing with such limited space. It would totally trigger Gordon Ramsay. They're very busy and it's a great place to people watch or strike up a conversation with a stranger. I love both and it totally had that going for it. The cashier appeared to be the daughter and was very welcoming! If you order a sandwich or such you can add on a drink and bag of Lays for $.75. Ice tea was fresh. My meal was worth the price and priced very fairly. Not gouging like other delis and bagel places around. 4...
Read moreFirst the good—-we’ve been going to this place for decades and their bagels and bagel sandwiches are pretty tasty. However unless you go in and stand in line and order, their communication process is horrific. You will wait. Even if you get there while no one is there. And this place is usually packed. Why? As I said, pretty good food (not amazing, but given choices in this area, good). The problem is if you order ahead online (don’t even think about calling). Their online order pick up process is broken. There is no actual process. And unless you either bug them behind the counter every few minutes (and good luck getting their attention) you will have no idea when your mysterious online order is ready, while clear numbers are shouted out for in-person order and dozens of people go before you while your order grows colder by the second behind the counter because they haven’t figured out how to distribute online orders efficiently (or at all). Overall, that process is so bad and since there are now good alternatives around here (sweethearts doughnuts in anthem makes a great bagel sandwich) I’m simply done with this place. If you try it and order in advance, be aggressive and...
