My family decided to eat here for breakfast on Easter. The wait wasn't as bad as we anticipated- most places are an hour or more. We were definitely under that time frame. However, we specifically asked for a table- not a booth. We were a party of 4. We were fine to wait for an actual table to open. The girls working the hostess stand called us up two separate times to have us seated, only for them to say "oh sorry- you wanted table, right?" Then we had to sit back down and continue waiting. Finally, on the 3rd call, they sat us at a half table, half booth. We accepted this compromise and placed our drink order. The waitress came back a few minutes later (with no drinks) and said, "We have a party of 14 that has been waiting over 30mins and they needed to be sat in the area. We will need you to move." I told her no and that "we had to wait just like everyone else to be seated- we are hungry, thirsty, and there has been non-stop problems since we got here. We are not moving." She said she understood and walked away. Another few minutes go by and a different lady comes to the table and says, "You need to move to another table because the hostess seated you in the wrong spot." We all got up and walked out. We already said NO one time and then you come back and DEMAND that we move because your staff made a mistake? NOT MY PROBLEM. We all had to wait long periods of time due to the Easter rush- we understood that and remained patient- even through the first 2 calls for our name. There were SEVERAL other vacant tables and booths that they could have been seated at- tables could have been pushed together to make room for a large party. Lack of communication during a busy holiday is not a good way to run a fast-paced restaurant, nor is demanding innocent people be removed from their table and their meal interrupted. You should be able to think quickly to resolve a mistake, versus inconveniencing others. I could see if the larger party specifically reserved that area, but they did not. It was all first come, first serve. Unacceptable and we will never go back there. We went to Crackle Barrel instead and had a great meal with...
Read moreWe were sat before 2 other tables next to us. Waited 20 minutes to have our drink order taken after the other 2 tables had already taken and delivered their drinks when the server finally took our drink order informed us he'd be right back to which he took the other 2 tables food order and dissapeared for another 20 minutes and dropped their food off. Luckily we flagged down another waitress who was nice enough to take our order. We still had to wait another half hour to get our food by our original server and at this point the other 2 tables were done eating by the time we had even gotten our food. Our server came by to at least ask how the food was which luckily wasn't cold but when we had finished our plates we did not have a check and never saw our server again the waitress that took our order saw empty plates and us sitting there with no check so she was nice enough to go print it off. One of the people I was with has been in food service for almost 20 years I was a server and expo for 3 so we always make it a point to tip because we realize how rough it can be and sometimes people just have bad days. But it seemed to us that he just did not care to wait on us or just had no concept of time. This was the first time ever I did not tip our server. However we did give the waitress that took our order and got our check a few dollars for helping us out. Now I didnt give names because it honestly doesnt matter. This is the 5th time we've been to this location and 4 out of the 5 times we've received some of the worst service ever if you aren't lucky enough to get the 2 good servers in that place which is the lady with tattoos that helped us out and a younger gentleman with tattoos you're screwed. The food was great at least though! Oh and by the way the man you had making balloon animals for the children decided it would be ok to blatently stare at my friends 17 year old daughters chest while we were being seated. These are the reasons for...
Read moreDo not go to IHOP on Happy Valley Rd. (at least late night). We had a party of 6 arrive around midnight a few months ago, and were greeted by a sloppy hand written sign on the door stating they don't split checks after 10pm. What? We went in anyway and were seated. The greeter walked way ahead of us and "threw" the menus on the table. We asked the waiter what the deal was with not splitting the check since we were 3 separate couple and wanted to pay our own bill. He stated the manager said they weren't allowed if we sat at the same table. Basically, if we sat at different tables, he could issue each table their own check. Yep...this makes sense. We got up and left and headed to Denny's on Deer Valley Rd. We told the waitress what happened and she said they are receiving a lot of business from IHOP because of this.
We thought we would try at another date (since we actually like IHOP food). This time, it was just me and my wife (late night again). We were seated by the waiter and given menus. We waited 25 minutes for his return to take drink orders but he never came back. We got up and left and went to Denny's again
Recently, some friends of ours wanted to go to IHOP (late night again) even after we told them about the prior 2 incidents. We reluctantly agreed. This time, the waiter forgot to bring out drinks when he brought out our food. On top of that, he totally forgot to put my wife's order in to the cook. The waiter then had the nerve to ask me what do we want to do? Seriously? I raised my voice and said "bring her food!". We have been going to Denny's ever since and vowed never to return to this location again. I wish I could...
