I came here with family for family member‘s 18th birthday. I left the restaurant feeling completely disgusted and upset by their unlawful practices. There were four of us and we ate at the Teppanyaki grill. We ordered food and drinks and appetizers. The food was great ,no problem there. It was our waiter and how this place does business. If you go here ask what the price is because the menu price is different from what they’re going to charge you, due to inflation. They are charging whatever they want and if you don’t pay attention you won’t know the difference. The bill did not match what we ordered. The waiter told us that due to inflation the prices increased but were not listed on the menu. I completely understand a price increase however I find it completely unethical that they had no sign notifying people that the menu would be different and you really don’t know the cost of anything because price increases are not listed on the menu. I’m assuming the restaurant changed the prices in the system, but apparently due to inflation this restaurant is unable to afford to change the prices on the menu and let the customers know that there is a difference. I will be filing a complaint with the attorney generals office and anybody else deemed necessary. I have copies of my receipts that do not match the menu prices. From the few people I contacted I was able to ascertain that this is completely unethical. You have to charge the person the price listed on your menu you cannot just make up a price when they go to check out and have it be different from the price listed. I will never forget this horrible experience. Very poor business management with zero concern about the customer. Veronica the manager provided her personal email to me.

Update: I sent the receipts many times to manager Veronica and never received a reply at all. She ignored my calls the first 3 times and then took my call and gave me her personal email. Its almost a month now (it will be 21 days this Friday 5/20/22) since this began and I am over it. No credit needed, just please charge people what is on the menu and don't throw in extra sides and costs to compensate for inflation. Return someone's call the first time. Don't make us wait an hour while you try to discount the inflation charges on the receipts after we noticed things were off. Please have someone available that can handle such situation on site to assist so this does not happen to anyone else. Alex was our waiter at 2450 W Happy Valley Rd.Phoenix ,AZ 85085. I work just down the street from you. This is the correct location. I pass it every morning and...

Where to start?

Some days they do take-out orders. Some days they don't. There's no rhyme or reason to it. -- Calling ahead does no good. We've placed call ahead orders only to show up 20 minutes later and be told "We aren't taking to go orders tonight." I replied "Though, you took my order on the phone twenty minutes ago." They replied "Yeah. Then the kitchen said no."

Next:

No sushi to go. Now, if you want to sit at a table, order the sushi, then the moment it's delivered to your table, ask for a to go box, they'll give you one.

Next:

The sign on the door says they close at 9pm on weekdays. 10p on the weekends.

However, we've walked in as early as ninety minutes before closing and have been told "The kitchen isn't taking any more orders tonight."

Tonight, the restaurant had only a few tables occupied. It's not like they were swamped and couldn't keep up. If this is the case, there are bigger issues here

Next:

If you manage to get a table and choose to have Saki or other drinks with your meal, you're best to order that before you order your food. Once it's been delivered to your table, then and only then, order your food. Otherwise, there's a greater chance than not that you'll never see your drinks. Don't expect refills.

Last:

They had brought a manager in from another store in the valley. For a very brief moment, things were better. I don't know if she's no longer there, or if we've been unlucky to show up when she was off and the mostly useless, lazy staff were back to their old antics.

At the end of the day, the customer service at this specific location is obscenely poor.

I'll never understand why, if they have no intention of actually doing their jobs, these people bother to show up.

Thankfully, there are still those of us out there who take pride in our work. Or at the very least, have a modicum level of integrity. Imagine if the world were run by the people running...

I walked in and immediately i was blown away… the hostess up front was so magnificent and magical looking that it took my breath away. I even wrote her a song that goes a little like

Looking out the door I see the rain Fall upon the funeral mourners Parading in a wake of sad relations As their shoes fill up with water Maybe I'm too young To keep good love from going wrong But tonight you're on my mind So... you'll never know Broken down and hungry for your love With no way to feed it Where are you tonight? Child, ya know how much I need it Too young to hold on And too old to just break free and run Sometimes a man gets carried away When he feels like should be having his fun Much too blind to see the damage he's done Sometimes a man must awake to find that Really he has no one So I'll wait for you, love And I'll burn Will I ever see your sweet return? Oh, will I ever learn? Oh-oh, lover, you should've come over 'Cause it's not too late Lonely is the room, the bed is made The open window lets the rain in Burning in the corner is the only one who dreams He had you with him My body turns And yearns for a sleep that won't ever come It's never over My kingdom for a kiss upon her shoulder It's never over All my riches for her smiles When I've slept so soft against her It's never over All my blood for the sweetness of her laughter It's never over She is the tear that hangs inside my soul forever Oh, but maybe I'm just too young To keep good love from going wrong Oh-oh-oh, lover You should've come over, yeah, yes Yes, I feel too young to hold on And much too old to break free and run Too deaf, dumb and blind to see the damage I've done Sweet lover, you should've come over Oh, love, well I've waited for you Lover, lover, lover Lover, love, love, love, love, love, love! Lover, you should've come over 'Cause it's not too late

Yeah so thats the song i made for her! Shes wonderful (lovely...

UPDATE FROM NEXT DAY: I got food poisoning from this meal. Had a miserable night 45 minutes after eating it. I am so disappointed with my meal. I ordered teppanyaki steak and shrimp, like I have done a bunch of times before for take out (it is my favorite meal ever), but this was terrible. I was quoted for 15-20 minutes over the phone so I showed up at 20 minutes. I paid for my order then sat there & and waited 30 additional minutes until my food was ready. The hostess was really sweet and apologized for the wait saying they only had one chef on tonight which I understood. But then I noticed my bag of food handed to me was dripping as I reached my car, because all of the juice from the box had poured out into the bag and it was handed to me that way. I cleaned it up with napkins from my car & proceeded home. When I opened the box I realized my food was cold. Not even semi warm, which makes no sense for how long it took to prepare it. Then I noticed I was only given a single cup worth of vegetables, nothing like the quantity normally given, which is waaaay more. The vegetables were missing onion & had bell pepper in them which I have never experienced, it was awful/did not match the flavor of the dish & all of the vegetables were over soaked with soy sauce, so salty I had to literally wring them out to eat them. I ordered the steak medium rare, it came well done & dry. I’m most upset about the rice. I don’t know where the chef went wrong but god was that rice terrible. Undercooked, over peppered, tasted like old white rice, just so so bad. I paid a lot for this meal & I’ve had it so many times that I know what it is supposed to taste like, this was really unfortunate. I’ll stick to going to only the other 2 locations.

Updated 2025... We were able to get Teppanyaki this time. It's a fun and interactive experience for the young, and for the wise ;). I love their soup and salad. The chicken fried rice, vegetables, and mongolian beef are my favorite. I appreciate that we had a positive experience this time, and I can give them more stars :) ⭐️ On a side note, they don't have outdoor seating. Original Review... We called ahead on a weekday evening to see if their Teppanyaki grill was, and would still be, open upon our arrival. We were told, yes. However, when we arrived, we were told that only regular seating was available. Our server appeared unhappy with our presence. He basically "dropped" our dinner plates on our table. He disappeared, only to reappear to give us our bill. Didn't offer us a box for our food, didn't ask us if we'd like dessert, etc. I love to give great reviews, but, unfortunately, I simply can't with this experience at this location. Our bill nearly totaled $200 before tip. If anyone is paying (honestly, any dollar amount), I should hope the service equates to the quality of the restaurant and food 🤷
