Let me start out by saying how I look forward to going back to Islands restaurant. A small group of us ended up going there and I told him how great it was. We all sat down and ordered our drinks and meal and we're visiting. When the mail came there was no napkins brought to the table. This was not a problem as I could see the napkins from where I was sitting. I got up and got the napkins and in the process I noticed the manager back in the back with all the employees. Then I looked around the cafe and noticed that there was only two more tables that were busy. I thought to myself this must be an oversight. I handed out the napkins to everyone that was at the table. Then before I could even sit down someone was complaining that the fries were ice cold. Sorry I got up and went to the manager who was wearing a blue and white Hawaiian style shirt. And told him those fries are cold we need new ones. The waitress overheard this and said I'll be there with the new ones in just a minute. So we continue to eat and I really enjoyed my tacos. And I finished what I was eating and noticed that everybody else was almost finished yet there was no fries. Just about the time I was about to get up again here comes the fries of course I'm sure it would have been a lot better to have with your meal. Again I noticed the manager was looking at all this yet it didn't seem to bother him at all. I couldn't help but get the feeling that this was a private club for him and the employees. I don't think I've ever been treated where my business did not matter so much. In fact I can tell you that I will not come back to any of the restaurants in this...
Read moreThe food is excellent, however when visiting today I was extremely disappointed in the service received from the hostess station. There were 3 young people working the station who seemed more interested in chatting instead of paying attention to servicing the guests. When we arrived we were told it would be 15 to 20 minute wait even though there were multiple tables/booths available. I understand the shortage in finding employees today so I’m assuming they didn’t have enough servers. Why have 3 at hostess station when you’re short on servers? We had been waiting awhile and I went to hostess station and inquired about how much longer it would be and the young girl working there proceeded to get an attitude and told me that we were told it would be 20 minutes and it’s only been 13 minutes. Wow,I would never place an employee with a smart attitude in a position like that. She needs to be behind the scenes! Has to be due to poor management! Obviously no training given to these young employees. Anyway we left and went somewhere else because of her and the young guy working next to her who just didn’t get customer service. Unfortunately I liked the food there however will...
Read moreBeen wanting to this place for a while but I can never get here before they close so has a little time at lunch while out running errands and stopped by. I got the fish tacos no pico (it's the tomatoes man..) truffle fries and a Mai Tai! It's 5 o'clock somewhere right🤣🤣🤣.
Let's discuss the good! The waiter was AWESOME, UPBEAT, AND HAD PLENTY OF ENERGY, like he wanted you there gave great recommendations, I didn't order what he recommended but if I was in the mood for that the way he described it I would've. They are also clean and green they use those compostable straws for the environment.
The food was good the fries crisp not soggy and the fish didn't fall apart like most fish tacos in the valley. The MaiTai was delicious I thought I was back home sipping for a minute, I'm from Louisiana so we know drinks!
The bad. They sat me at a table where the AC was dropping condensation on me. Instead of moving me they gave me napkins how ghetto wasn't feeling it.
I would come back for the food but I wouldn't eat in, I'd get takeout but the only reason I'd be back is for the MaiTai and I doubt you can get that to go so it's a toss up. Water dropping on...
