I was excited to have this place open up close by but after my experience, I’m pretty sure we’re gonna keep going to the other one. What a disaster of a place! Horrid management!
For starters, I ordered two subs in a tub. They chopped the meat and cheese on a slice of butcher paper before they put it in the tubs. The cheese kind of sticks to the butcher paper when they do this. Instead of scraping all the meat and cheese off the paper into the tub, they left almost half the cheese stuck to the butcher paper and threw it in the garbage. So they basically shorted me a lot of cheese from each tub.
My sandwiches also come with bacon. I get this all the time and it always comes with two slices of bacon. Apparently not at this location! They put one slice of bacon in each tub and it was a micro piece of bacon at that. I had to go point it out and ask for the missing bacon after I sat down.
When the girl was ringing up my order, I noticed that the price she was charging was higher than the price on the menu board. I pointed that out to her, and she said “that’s the price with tax.” Okay…
After I paid, I sat down and reviewed the receipt. She was wrong. I was charged incorrectly for five different items. Then I was charged tax charged on top of that.
I brought it up to the “manager,” some younger guy named Patrick I think, and he said that he would refund my order and would then charge me the correct price with a new charge. Whatever. I re-swiped my card for the new charge and then asked for a receipt showing the initial refund. He refused to give it to me. I asked him how I would know that he had refunded me and he told me that he had already shown me the receipt showing the refund…which never happened. OK, please give me the receipt then! He said he didn’t have to give me any receipt.
This was getting ridiculous. I asked for the name of the real manager and the phone number. He said he is the real manager and he is not obligated to give anyone his phone number. OMG. I asked again for the REAL manager and made it clear I didn’t want this dummy’s personal phone number, but the store number for the real manager. He again refused to help me.
I told him I wasn’t leaving until I had a receipt showing that I had actually been given a refund. He again said “I showed it to you so that’s enough.”
After a minute or so of me standing there, with the line backing up, an older guy came over to see what was going on and I asked him for a copy of the refund receipt. He printed it out in about three seconds and handed it to me. Unreal!

When I hadn't heard anything for a few weeks I called the local store and asked what the status was. Read moreI was so excited to get a Jersey Mike’s a mile from home. Opening weekend the food was ok. I went back last week and they were so cheap with the meat. When putting on the meat there was about 3 inches of bread left, and instead of adding another slice of meat he moved the few slices on the sandwich to cover the bread. I will go to the 59th and 101 for a great sub instead of staying close by home and getting a meh sub for this price. Customer service was great, but I’m paying for a good sub.
