JJs Bar and Billiard — Restaurant in Phoenix

Me & my boys come here on a regular bases when there is semi big games on T.V & it always has been smooth sailing in the past but Monday April 1st was very very unsatisfying. We went to watch the Villanova V.S Michigan College Championship game and from the moment we sat down we knew we were heading down a roller coaster. First we saw the young poor waiter girl running around trying to get to people but she just couldn’t keep up cause it was just her. Management should of known better to have had a proper staffed shift for the big game espesially knowing it was the waitress second day yes second day on the job as we overheard her tell the big group in front of us & I can’t believe she was running the shift herself with no help on her SECOND DAY ! At least management should of been out there helping instead of hiding in a locked room. I don’t blame the waiter I blame management for not staffing right and taking over a restaurant without having any employes to help run a restaurant. Second the girl never attended us because there was a big group sitting in front of us that was all complaining that they had been there for an hour and had still not gotten there food and that they had to get up & ask for there drinks after waiting more then 30 PLUS minutes or so! The bartender had finally came up to us a while later and told us sorry for the wait and offered to get our drinks really quick. He did bring us our drink right away but we were never attended after that and it was understandable the bartender had a whole bar waiting for there drinks. I guess what I’m really disappointed is not the fact that I waited a hour to just be ignored but the fact the owner never came out to take orders and help out. Take responsibility and drop what your doing to help run your business and not let customers just walk out the door left and right and not want to come back. One plus I will say the pool tables look really good other then that place REALLY SUCKS. Hope you guys turn it...

Where do I begin?? From the time we sat at the bar, we waited 15 minutes to be acknowledged. The bar was poorly stocked, no Patron, no Buchanans, no Grape Vodka of any kind. Then there was the DJ, if I can even call him that. The music selection was trash, he was all over the place playing "old school" then Keisha Cole, then Ramin Ayala....I cringed at the the fact that we considered this place to celebrate my wifes Birthday!! And when I requested a song to be played for my wife, it wasnt played. Maybe because I didnt offer him a $20 like many others. The pool tables are stocked with really cheap billiard balls, very lightweight and cheap colors. The bouncer was an Ace in the hole, yelling at our invited guest because they touched the light hanging over the pool table to provide light for a picture we were trying to take. Granted our guest shouldnt have touched the light but I believe the correct way to handle that would have been to politely ask the guest not to do that, instead of acting like a douche and yelling at him. There were a couple of cocktail waitresses in the pool area who did a great job. Wish I would have grabbed their name to give them credit for holding the place together and trying to provide somewhat of a pleasant experience. Came in to play pool they had a dj playing a mixed variety of music from Spanish music to reggeton hip hop and rap. It was super busy that day no seats available so we sat on the front bench. I ordered a Jameson on the rocks and a coors light. The bill was 19$. We didn't order any food. Later I sent my fiancé to get us another round because I was playing pool and this time she only paid $12. I told some gals there what happened and they told me a story on how sometimes they charge for pitchers give you a beer and give the pitcher to their buddies. Wasnt very happy hearing I got scammed, lesson learned. The 3rd round of drinks my fiancé got for free cause she got hit on at the bar. Ill take a free drink any day thank you very much. The dj was kinda sleezy on one occation me and my gf were dancing and he approached her from behind and initiated dirty dancing, my gf told him she was ok without his company. Later she went to request a song and he replied, ill play anything you want if we go make-out in the back. Later that night any time he played a song we like and started dancing he would immediately change the song. Someone doesn't take rejection well. we ended up staying till closing, made lots of new friends so overall it was worth the visit. They had 8 pool...
