Great drinks but the workers are very rude. I went to this location at 8PM on 11/19/2024. At this time there were two male staff working an older gentleman and a younger guy. The moment I walked in the older guy tells the younger guy “be careful when you take that girl’s (except they spoke in Vietnamese, and the word in Vietnamese that they used for girl is a rude term) her order is very fussy.”

I ordered a half white mocha and half hazelnut hot latte with 3 extra shots of espresso. What I usually order here is either a torched cream brûlée brown sugar milk tea (on the menu), Oreo Extreme with 3 extra shots of espresso (on the menu) or Orange Sunrise Lemonade (on the menu). The only drink I customize is the hot latte drink, but apparently the younger guy taking the order thought it was also too fussy and told the older guy that he “needed to come take this girl’s (also the rude version of girl in Vietnamese) order”

At this point I felt very upset because their drinks are not cheap, I usually pay about 20 dollars for two drinks and have always tipped them. I know my order isn’t standard so I made sure to always tip, but the fact that they were speaking Vietnamese in front of me thinking that I don’t understand is very rude. There are very many different word choices that the workers could have chosen when talking about me behind my back but they chose the worse of the words.

For example: he could have used “chi” older sister, “be” the young girl, but he used “con nhỏ” which is extremely rude.

While it might be something trivial to some, this is a no no situation for me and I probably won’t be back. It’s a shame because I really enjoy...

I've been going to pu'er over time ever since their soft opening and I wanna say that overall they're pretty good, even if I haven't tried everything yet. for west side boba shops they're probably the best boba shop over here but some east valley boba shops are still a little better imo.

inside feels really elevated and nicely decorated, clean, a great place to study (they close at 10 pm) and the workers are usually pretty nice unless there's a little bit of a language barrier but that's not their fault at all, they're all doing their best.

I usually get their blended drinks (avocado coconut smoothie or matcha crème brûlée) and most of the time they're pretty tasty but sometimes it feels like there was too much ice blended so it mutes the flavors of the drink at times. I'm not a huge fan of their boba though since I feel like the times I've tried it in the past it's more on the harder chewy side of boba and some pearls feel inconsistent to other pearls (some softer than others), so I usually get other toppings or no toppings at all. I'm not sure how their boba is currently.

I think my only main pullback with this shop is that they are a little on the pricier side, of course if you get a specialty or blended drink, but recently I was a little shocked to learn that for a regular drink "light ice fill-up" is $0.35 since my usual go-to shop (crafti tea in mesa) gives no ice for free, or even at daboba in gilbert their no ice is $0.25 so $0.35 for light ice is a little bit of a shocker to me. I'll still be coming back though since they're the only good boba shop in the...

Had a great experience at Pu'er! Moved to Phoenix from San Diego back in November and have been searching for a new spot to get my boba fix. While I went during their soft opening, I'm happy to say that after trying 10+ spots over the months that I've found my place to frequent!

My partner and I tried 4 drinks: Thai Tea - Not super traditional tasting but still good. I didn't need to modify the sugar or ice. Mango Tornado - Really great especially since we don't normally like cheese foam. It changed the texture of the drink without being too overpowering. I didn't need to modify the ice or sweetness. Peach Orange Fruit Tea - My personal favorite. It has lemongrass in the drink that was super familiar to drinks that I had recently in Vietnam. It's really refreshing on a hot day. It does run very sweet. I recommend getting 50% sweetness in this drink. Torched Creme Brulee Brown Sugar Milk Tea - I can tell this drink is going to be super popular. It's really delicious and easy to drink. It was slightly sweet though, might recommend getting it at 75% swiftness.

While the drinks are great, the interior feels super clean and modern making it a great place to hang out and work/study. The staff were super friendly and went out of their way to help with picking drinks and adjusting sweetness levels. They checked in multiple times to make sure that we liked our drinks and were very receptive to any feedback that we had. We were really impressed by how...

Been waiting for this place to open since it's literally just down the road from where we bought our first house, and there aren't really any GOOD options for boba/milktea in the west valley. Was hoping it would be good, and after trying 3 of their drinks today, I'm ready to say it's literally the best milk tea for probably 20 miles in any direction. The only other place I can think of that is this level of quality is Mochi Fresh, which is all the way in Tempe, and we were still willing to drive 25 miles just for boba, so we're thrilled this place has opened where it has. We tried the Signature brown sugar boba milk, the matcha crème brulee, and the strawberry tornado, and all were fantastic. The boba we got was perfectly cooked, the drinks all have a distinct taste of tea, and aren't just sugar bombs. Even the strawberry tornado had a clear taste of tea in it, which was very refreshing. The matcha creme brulee also had a perfect balance of sweetness and green tea taste, and they torch the creme brulee on the counter when you order it. The vibe is impeccable, they have modern luxury decor style inside, a long table with a ton of power strips, plenty of seating, and a lot of space. The employees (and possibly owner?) were very happy to help us and seemed excited to have us come in. They were very friendly. I really hope this place does well and is around for years to come.

As someone from Taiwan, I’m truly disappointed. This shop advertises itself as “Taiwanese” on the sign, but the drinks are nothing like what you’d find in Taiwan. I ordered a milk tea, and the color looked so pale it seemed like plain milk — no trace of tea at all. I even asked the staff if they forgot to add tea, and they told me, “This is how it’s supposed to be.” I mentioned I’m from Taiwan and that their product is very different from real Taiwanese tea. The response? “We’re a Vietnamese-owned shop.” That honestly left me speechless. If you’re from Taiwan and looking for a taste of home, save your money and your expectations. This place uses the name “Taiwan” but has none of the flavor, none of the spirit — just misleading branding that leaves a bad impression. One star is generous for this experience. ——————————————————————— My Response: Thank you for your reply. I appreciate that you took the time to respond thoughtfully. However, I feel the need to clarify a few things — particularly because your response seems to misinterpret the core of my review. At no point did I ever say or even suggest that a certain ethnicity cannot own or operate a business that represents another culture. I wholeheartedly support cultural exchange and appreciate when people respectfully share food and drink traditions from around the world. My disappointment was never about who owns the shop — it was about the actual product and presentation. My main point — and I believe I expressed it clearly — is that your drink was significantly different from the Taiwanese milk tea that your sign claims to represent. The milk tea I received was extremely pale and lacked the taste and depth of tea flavor that is characteristic of true Taiwanese milk tea. This was not a matter of “preference” — the drink tasted more like milk than tea, and even its color reflected that. Out of genuine curiosity and concern, I asked your staff if the tea was missing, and was simply told “this is the standard recipe.” I also respectfully mentioned that I’m from Taiwan and that the drink seemed quite different from what I’m familiar with. I was then told that the shop is Vietnamese-owned — a response that, while factual, did not address my concern about the drink itself. For reference, I’ve included a photo of the milk tea I received so that others can see the appearance and color of the drink. This is not just a matter of taste — visually, too, it is far from what Taiwanese milk tea typically looks like. Additionally, I need to address one more thing. In your reply, you wrote: “This is Chinese Version of our reply, just in case you do not understand English.” That statement came across as condescending and unnecessary. I wrote my entire review in clear, fluent English — there was absolutely no reason to assume I might not understand English. If you wanted to include a Chinese version, that’s perfectly fine, but the way you phrased it implied a lack of respect for the person you’re responding to. It’s disappointing, especially since respectful dialogue should go both ways. I hope this clears up the intention of my original review. It was never personal, nor based on cultural assumptions. My goal was to give honest feedback based on the expectation set by your branding, and the actual experience I had as someone familiar with authentic Taiwanese tea. I hope you can take that into account moving forward — “because constructive feedback starts with listening to what your customers are truly saying.” Thank you.
