Whoever worked the kitchen and prepped for this brunch (10/17) made an excellent chicken taco salad and chille rellano burrito for me. My boyfriend has a carne asada burrito special, and was also very pleased with his food. They also seem to serve very decent salsas, which is more rare than one would hope. Los Torios is much more affordable than other Mexican "fast food" chains, but the quality of both the products and the methods of preparation are night and day in comparison, and I've found my new stop. Additionally, the service provided at the front was pleasant and attentive.
One thing I think the owners need to do is pay a little more attention to the dining room. I would recommend scraping the gross, sun-bleached signs from the windows, removing the dust-trapping fake flowers, and maybe getting some fresh tarps for the patio and paint for the outside. The place is otherwise fairly clean if you look past the appearance of the outside and take a step in. One thing I didn't get to see was the bathrooms, as they were marked Closed, which was too bad, because being able to wash my hands before eating would've been nice, plus I definitely judge the cleanliness of a kitchen by the cleanliness of a restaurants bathrooms.
Overall, I recommend giving this place a try or...
Read moreI’ve been coming here for 6+ years and I order the same thing every time. #3 enchiladas combo with green sauce and a shrimp quesadilla. Every single time. This time I order the same thing and I’m given enchiladas with red sauce and a cheese quesadilla. They tell me they can’t make enchiladas with green sauce. No reason. Just can’t do it. And the box they gave it to me in had a corner missing so the sauce spilled everywhere in my car. I don’t know why they are all of the sudden unable to make food to order but I won’t be coming back if everything I order has to be remade and a simple request cannot be accommodated after so many years of it not being a problem. I’m really disappointed. This used to be my regular Mexican restaurant and now I will be finding a new one. I recommend finding someplace else...
Read moreExcellent late night grub for post Springsteen and the Legendary E Street Band! My son and I went to grab some food, found this spot and decided it looks good. I had the Torta, my son had the Chimichanga and chips and salsa. Hungry after the Boss played for almost 3 hours. Food was great, potions are large and in charge, service was great. My wife's Gramma who used to own a couple Mexican restaurants in the North West (Yakima) said in the restaurant world, if the restroom is a dirty mess then the kitchen probably looks the same. Fortunately, these restooms were almost immaculate. And what was going on behind the counter looked nice and well kept and cooking up some good food. I'll stop in again next time I am...
