3/29/25: still flipping fantastic! Arrived in the early afternoon this particular Saturday & was happy to see more people than our last visit. Hopefully word is getting around town how wonderful their grub is & how friendly the staff is.
This visit we ordered a few different items. The strawberry lemonade had a nice tartness to it, as well as nice, large slices of strawberries; the peach waffle was light & fluffy (my sister suspects they may have been canned peaches since it's not peach season); the ham & cheese crepe was stocked full of everything (nothing weak about it); the strawberry & banana funnel cake blew us out of the water; and lastly, the fresas con crema was a masterpiece of deliciousness.
The woman took a picture of the funnel cake & fresas, I image she posted it somewhere (she definitely had a reason to be proud of them :-) ) In fact, she took a picture of our entire table full of the food, even one with us in it. Here's hoping I didn't have spinach in my teeth. LOL!
I am not a fan of churros, but our next visit I am definitely going to try one. Based on the yumminess of everything we have tasted so far, something tells me I will like their churros.
If you have not yet tried Crepes Churros and More, you're missing out.
2/1/25: Short version - hot, freshly made food; pristine clean store w/ a good layout & colorful decor; fast, friendly service. I would definitely hit up Crepes Churros and More again.
Long version - I adore crepes and have eaten my fair share, from numerous restaurants and/or food trucks. CCM is one of the best places to grab a wonderful crepe.
Why? 1) They are huge. Even if we didn't order a sweet crepe & a funnel cake, I still would not have been able to eat my chicken crepe in one sitting. The crepe itself was properly browned and was the perfect thickness (not paper thin, but not pancake thick either. 2) The chicken was wonderfully seasoned, the mozzarella well melted, and the cilantro dressing was the cherry on top. My sister's ham & eggs crepe was just as tasty, the chipotle dressing adding a slight zing to the crepe.
As for the dulce de leche funnel cake & strawberry & banana crepe: two more wonderfully delightful eats. I confess, when I first took a pic of the funnel cake, I thought "I sure hope he adds more batter to that" :-) and he most certainly did! Hopefully you can tell from the picture how full it is. There was no shortage of chocolate, bananas, and for an added crunch, walnuts! It, too, was cooked to perfection. Slightly crisp on the outside, but nice and fluffy inside. This is how funnel cakes should be made! The strawberry & nanner crepe was covered with both fruits, with the added bonus of chocolate (maybe Nutella) spread within the folds.
Drinks? My sister's caramel latte was nice & hot, no thrills, and she said it was not overly burdened with the latte. What she meant is that I may even like it (I do not like coffee, espresso, or anything close to it.) I did not take a sip, however, as I was enjoying my dragon fruit refresher. I did not see what kind of juice was poured into it, but there were quite a few chunks of dragon fruit (yum!) in it and it was not overly sweet.
Be aware the street sign off McDowell does not say CCM, but instead La Churreria. The small complex includes a few other stores, with plenty of parking -- and I believe there was some street parking on the west side. When we arrived shortly after opening on this particular Saturday morning, there were only three other cars. We were CCM's only customers. The young lady behind the counter was friendly, there was some music playing, and the decor was colorful, but not garishly so. Everything oozed a calming place to dine.
What a great place to dine, and a lot closer than a few of the other crepe places we have sampled. I highly recommend CCM. We will most definitely visit again, sampling a few other items. I almost left with a fresas con crema to go but figured we had had enough sweets for the morning. LOL! I will most definitely be ordering that the next visit....
Read moreI live just around the corner from this place and have been wanting to try it since they opened. I haven't even gone into it until today because their hours are, in my opinion odd. For basically a breakfast and coffee shop to not open until 9:00 is, like I said, odd. But anyway, today I am leaving my condo and nits after 9:00 so I stop in. It's a very pleasant interior, clean and comfortable. I am the only customer and there is only one staff. She is off to the side cooking something and she greats me pleasantly and says she will be right with me. As I'm waiting I look up at the menus and notice something else is odd, no pricing whatsoever. But I guess a lot of customers look it up online which I try to call up their website and guess what, no website. Anyways I'm waiting and waiting and waiting and finally I just say "maybe some other time", and leave, hearing nothing behind me. And of course I won't ever try again. So I am not sure if this is a chain or owned by a local individual but either way, it's an odd business model and not a very good way to great a...
Read moreI was stopping in to get my favorite drink from here the Mangonada!! The employee working was Midia and she asked if I was willing to wait 15m because the customers before me ordered 3-4 drinks and I asked if she couldn’t just make my ONE drink quickly and she told me they were before me and I told her I understood that, I tried reasoning with her by telling her wouldn’t make more sense to quickly make my ONE drink and continue on with the other customers’ drink and she REFUSED to serve me!!! So I asked her if she was willing to lose a sale and she told me she’s busy which i found incredibly RUDE!!!! I’ve been to this establishment before and have NEVER had such poor service!!!! I’m highly disappointed because I’ve been in the customer service industry for over 10y and I’ve seen and heard it all but NEVER been treated this way!!! I did ask if there was anyone else there that could help her but she was alone and I then asked for her managers name but didn’t want to give me a name so I left upset and without being...
